Bosses

I think that, somewhere, there should be a list of the bosses in the House of the Dead series. It would also be great if someone included pictures of the bosses. Then again, individual pictures could go on each boss' respective Major Arcana. Anyone agree?

Overkill

Overkill is a main entry in the series. Labeled it so in the Template. Sheeeeeeep (talk) 18:52, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

No it's not. All four main titles have had three things in common: Bosses named after Major Arcana cards, released first in the arcades, and have a numerial in their title. Overkill is a console-only release. The only proof that has been given that Overkill is a main title is its plot ties into the others, but that proof is not as convincing as the arcades one. hbdragon88 (talk) 22:20, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

• I was close to suggesting that, but the dab page has the novel, the opera, and the short note about mortuaries. Looking now, I also found "(The) House of the Dead" refers to a Torchwood radio play and a 1932 film based on the novel, and use of the phrase to describe a Stonehenge burial mound. I just get the sense that this dab will get more use in the future, and its pretty harmless to keep. Also, it lets the hatnote on the primary topic be simpler (pointing to one dab page rather than giving several options. -- Netoholic @ 05:16, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

• Disambiguations are not for partial title matches or "could be used to describe" situations. They are to disambiguate between titles that are the same, or practically the same.     • Fair points, and I see the argument that a classic novel shouldn't be secondary to a video game, but I think this is still WP:PRIMARYTOPIC per our guidelines. The novel may not even be at the correct title, because its English translation has several alternatives. No matter where it belongs, though, a hatnote from this topic is certainly appropriate. If for some reason this doesn't pass, The House of the Dead (franchise) would be a better title per WP:NCVG#Media franchise. -- Netoholic @ 19:52, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
• Support. Page views make the good WP:PRIMARYTOPIC case that readers are searching for articles related to the video games and related media far more frequently than the Dostoevsky novel or other uses, and the series article is a good WP:CONCEPTDAB for all of them. It's worth noting that the Dostoevsky book is known by other titles, such as "Notes from a Dead House" and "Notes from the House of the Dead", the latter of which is a recent major translation.--Cúchullain ^t/c 19:16, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
