Wrong name
[edit]The name of this game, clearly seen on the pic of the box cover included in the article is Spider-Man. There is no "Amazing" in the title. The SegaCD version did add the "vs. The Kingpin" part, likely to distinguish it from Acclaim's Genesis game, also called Spider-Man, based on the then current cartoon series, but the original, cart version for Genesis was just Spider-Man.70.225.216.76 04:28, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, the load screen for the Genesis version of the game has the full title, even if the cart itself only reads "Spider-man."Chewbacca1010 04:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page to any particular title at this time, per the discussion below. I have created the proposed title as a redirect to this article. Dekimasuよ! 20:33, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin → Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin – Game was released on multiple platforms but only one of them actually used the title The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin. All the other ones including the original platform for which the game was created for simply call the game Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin. As a matter of fact, Wikipedia is pretty much the only website displaying this false information about The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin being the general title. 74.15.124.52 (talk) 05:07, 17 December 2018 (UTC). --Relisting. - Comment - this discussion is made difficult because the article has a severe lack of sources. Classic Home Video Games, 1989–1990 calls it simply "Spider-Man", while noting only the CD version using the longer (current) name. Playing at the Next Level tends to prefer "Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin". Games Radar describes the 1993 CD version as a remake, perhaps suggesting this article should be split? Just not sure where to go with this one. -- Netoholic @ 04:23, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- The game hardly has third-party references that exist for it when combining all four platforms it was released for, so splitting is not really an option. If anything, the article should actually be merged into Spider-Man in video games.
- I don't think a split is warranted, but sourcing is an issue. The cover art featured in the article doesn't use either of proposed titles. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:48, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- Relisting note: final relist to gain consensus on what, if any, change(s) should be made regarding the title and/or sourcing of the article. SITH (talk) 14:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
I might agree. Benjaminkirsc (talk) 12:13, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
