James & Tom's wedding: season 3 or 4?
[edit]Didn't the wedding actually occur during season 3? I do not remember there being any flash forward to show that weeding. Can someone clear this up for me please, thanks Xionbox (talk) 00:00, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
(wow, midnight on the nose!) Xionbox (talk) 00:00, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
alma mater
[edit]I already posted about this on Marshall's article - they went to Ohio Wesleyan University, not Wesleyan University (they are two different places), as you can clearly see from Marshall's Diploma in "Not a Father's Day." To the person who keeps reverting this, please explain why? Meadowlark527 (talk) 01:50, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
-Because they DID go to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The last episode: "The Possimpible", near the end you see Ted editing his resume and work history. It says he was a radio DJ for WESU-FM, which is Wesleyan University's student run radio station. Ohio Wesleyan's student radio's call sign is WSLN. Their college is almost always referred to as "Wesleyan", never "Ohio Wesleyan" or anything of that sort. The diploma might be an inside joke from the show's creators (all Wesleyan alums as am I) because Wes is always confused with other schools (usually Wellesley or Ohio Wesleyan). Ychennay (talk) 02:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
-I agree with Ychennay, another piece of evidence is in "Ten Sessions" when Stella says she went to Stanford and Ted says "Wesleyan" for himself. Not Ohio Wesleyan. Not only that, but remember in "Arrivederci, Fiero", when they are driving back home for the holidays, and Marshall offers Ted a ride to "pick him up in Ohio" on the way back to school from Minnesota, because he wants to save on gas money. Well, that presumes they are splitting gas from Ohio back to Connecticut, not Ohio to Ohio.
-So would Welseyan University issue a diploma from Ohio Wesleyan university as is clearly evidenced on in "Not a Father's Day" mentioned above. The diploma on Marshall's wall says Ohio Wesleyan university, that is not in dispute at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.103.13 (talk) 01:05, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
-In an interview with Josh Radnor, he states that the creators (which the characters of Ted and Marshall are based) went to Wesleyan Ohio so I'm guessing the characters went to that university since they are mildly based on Carter and Craig. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.51.205.186 (talk) 00:36, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
"Unreliable Narrator" Section
[edit]I believe this section isn't very accurate. I believe the "Slapsgiving" first slap mistake was an editing error that was corrected on the DVD and subsequent airings of the episode. The fact that Ted forgets that he didn't mark the +1 box for the wedding isn't really neglecting the fact in an "unreliable narrator" fashion because he does acknowledge at the end that he didn't mark the box after hearings so from the married couple. Lastly, the Blauman thing could simply be explained as though the HIMYM crew didn't think he would be making any more appearances, and that Ted states this as eventually happening, not as "current news in the former timeline". Anyone else agree? Jondy (talk) 19:31, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
But then there's the goat episode where he forgets which year the goat is at his birthday party, also in How I met Everyone Else, he doesn't remember his dates name, just referring to her as Blah-Blah.Tej68 (talk) 02:53, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm not trying to say that Ted's not an unreliable narrator, but wikipedia states that an unreliable narrator is one that has had his/her credibility seriously compromised for any number of reasons. Everything I've stated above, and even the two things that Tej68 has stated aren't indicative of that. The writers have stated that Ted's an unreliable narrator, but I feel like the unreliable parts of his stories will NOT be revealed by Ted or Future Ted himself until the very end. Jondy (talk) 06:07, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Good Point, if you want to go ahead and delete the section, you can. It seems a little trivial anyways. Tej68 (talk) 01:22, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Random bits about Josh Radnor
[edit]As this article is about the character "Ted Mosby", and not the actor portraying him, I'm going to remove the irrelevant sentences from the main biography. After all, Josh Radnor has an article of his own. Kareeser|Talk! 23:34, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
theodore/evelyn
[edit]was it ever really said that his full name is theodore?
also, when they say evelyn?
75.68.52.240 (talk) 18:21, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Theodore is used a lot in the series and Ted has never denied it. In How Lily Stole Christmas, Barney says Theodore Vivian Mosby and Ted replies that it isn't his middle name. Later on in the same episode, his own mother says Ted Evelyn Mosby and who else would know his middle name than his own mother? --Mailiaz (talk) 18:31, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Was it ever said that his middle name was actually "Evelyn" -- I always thought that was something Barney called him out of playful meanness to imply he being too feminine (particularly with his relationship ideals and feelings). Is there a place where they actually reveal his real middle name? --50.149.206.18 (talk) 17:51, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Off the top of my head, how about in "The Broath", when Barney says "Ted Evelyn Mosby" and Ted repeats "Ted Why-did-I-ever-tell-you-my-middle-name Mosby"? — Bilorv (talk)(contribs) 18:33, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
kids
[edit]Is it clear that those kids are Ted's children? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.106.63.214 (talk) 04:40, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yes it is Babar Suhail (talk) 09:27, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
This Page is Now Re-Directed?
[edit]How I Met Your Mother is a very popular show. On average, about nine million people see the new shows. I like this show and The Office (US TV series). The difference is, while they are both on the same levels of popularity, The Office has pages for not only their major characters, but also their minor characters as well. Holly Flax has her own page, and she's been in what, six episodes? Mind you, she'll probably be in more in season seven, but why did someone re-direct this page to the How I Met Your Mother Characters page when it is obvious that even smaller characters in prime time shows get to have their own pages? (At least, in this case, Holly Flax.) I even read that while it was under decision to possibly delete this page, almost everybody decided not to, because it is significant to the popular, notable show. But now someone has done this for them, they re-directed it. Why? That's one thing I'd like to know. Mackerni888 (talk) 17:44, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Picture
[edit]Can we change the picture? Not only is it not horribly flattering, far more importantly, it isn't Ted. It's a pic of the actor Josh Radnor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.33.241.3 (talk) 20:34, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

- I concur. 184.6.31.21 (talk) 11:15, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Doesn't the Senate have a point? It isn't a picture of Ted. Bilorv (Talk)(Contribs) 19:57, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Yeah... it doesn't even really look like Ted. Can we use some of the promotional images? Marshall's page image has the same issue... both of the actors have different appearances to how they look in the show.Larkmarn (talk) 23:32, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
