A section of the article has the correct name for Tampa which would be Ten-pa or a "river in the sky" which describes lightning. Accurate using the Ojibway language. Book --America rising sun. Donanasazi (talk) 21:55, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 25 February 2021

There is more recent metro population data available from the US Census. Change 3,068,511 to 3,097,859. Source link: https://data.census.gov/cedsci/table?text=population&g=310M500US45300&tid=ACSDT5Y2019.B01003&hidePreview=false The TableID is B01003. From 2019 instead of 2016. Have a lovely day! Orphaned references in Tampa, Florida

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tampa, Florida's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "USCensusEst2020":

  • From Buffalo, New York: "QuickFacts: Buffalo city, New York". Retrieved 2021-08-17.
  • From Baton Rouge metropolitan area: "County Population Totals and Components of Change: 2010-2020". United States Census Bureau. Retrieved July 30, 2021.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 05:13, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Requested move 1 November 2021

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Early WP:SNOW close. As noted below, this proposal goes against WP:USPLACE and has no chance of succeeding at this time. (closed by non-admin page mover) Lennart97 (talk) 12:38, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Tampa, FloridaTampa – Tampa is a major city that cannot be confused with any other city. The convention for major US cities has been to not include the name of the state they are in. San Diego, for instance, is the name of a major US city, but is also the name of various minor cities around the world, but the Wikipedia article of the major US city is simply "San Diego".
