Move
[edit]I'm moving this to "Sureshvara" as per the Indic naming conventions of no diacritical marks in the title. Babub→Talk 18:21, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Identification with Maṇḍana Miśra
[edit]I've reverted the redirect to Maṇḍana Miśra. Although Sureśvara is often identified with Maṇḍana Miśra, this identification is also strongly contested. See:
- Kuppuswami Sastri, S. (1984), Brahmasiddhi, by Maṇḍanamiśra, with commentary by Śankhapāṇī. 2nd ed., Delhi, India: Sri Satguru Publications
- Roodurmum, Pulasth Soobah (2002), Bhāmatī and Vivaraṇa Schools of Advaita Vedānta: A Critical Approach, Delhi: Motilal Banarsidass Publishers Private Limited
- Sharma, C. (1997), A Critical Survey of Indian Philosophy, Motilal Banarsidass, ISBN 81-208-0365-5
Sharma gives an overview from Hiriyanna and Kuppuswami Sastra's research on this issue. Best regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:49, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
