Rayman may be coming?
So this happened.
It goes without saying that it's fake until proven real, convincing as it may be, but I'd expect a lot of people are going to be trying to add this in the near future; one already has. Might be wise to lock down the page again for a few days until it blows over or until we get confirmation one way or the other. 68.37.227.226 (talk) 03:21, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
- It's pretty hype and all, but let's wait until there's official word before we make any edits on this front.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 03:36, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
- Exactly what I'm saying; much as I think and hope it's real, it's not valid for inclusion on the grounds that it's still unverifiable, much like the reason we didn't add the leaked characters many months ago. I've put a warning in the Characters section to dissuade people from listing him, just to be safe. -- 68.37.227.226 (talk) 08:33, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
- It seems as if the fake thing made very real things stat to happen [1]. The funny thing is when this whole things boils over, it might actually be notable enough that it'll be included on this page, regardless of whether Rayman is in or not.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 05:10, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

many people call the game super smash bros. 4 Valehd (talk) 23:26, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

- Maybe I'm misunderstanding things, but when people refer to Smash 4, they are usually ambiguously referring to both games in general. This is something that should be noted, despite the publisher intends the games to be the 4th and 5th installments respectively.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 18:44, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Playable characters
I have issues with the wording on this. It states that Mewtwo was in Brawl, which it was not...
On initial launch, seven playable characters who previously appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl did not return for this game such as the Ice Climbers, Lucas from Mother, Mewtwo from Pokemon, Wolf O'Donnell from Star Fox and Solid Snake from Metal Gear as well as Squirtle and Ivysaur from Pokémon.

- Right, I've removed Mewtwo part as he wasn't in Brawl. Rukario-sama ^ㅈ^ -(...) 21:26, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Lucas DLC - Individual Fighter or Alternate Appearance for Ness?
Is Lucas confirmed as an individual fighter or an alternate appearance for Ness? In my own opinion, they both use almost the same abilities. It would practically be a Lucina-Marth relationship if it's released separately. Despite my own opinions, can someone confirmed whether it's an alternate appearance or individual fighter? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tanner Ghosen (talk • contribs) 15:32, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Ness is its own character, as he is on the last row. 75.111.58.100 (talk) 02:55, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
Screenshot
The screenshot, Image:Super_Smash_Bros._U_-_new_characters.jpg, is probably the worst screenshot for this page that could possibly be used. I replaced it with a new one that shows the percentage bars and has that has a zoom that you could reasonably expect to see while playing the game.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 22:35, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
The total number of fighters is 55
The comments in the article says not to change it "because Miis are one slot" but Sakurai, the director of the game, says there are 55 characters in Smash 4 according to the last direct. I think rather than using the somewhat arbitrary number pulled from character select tiles, we go by what the director of the game says. Also Miis count as separate characters for stats in the game. There are 55 separate move sets in the game, the tiles on the select screen is there out of convenience, not as the end all number of characters in the game. 67.242.178.149 (talk) 02:13, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
- That was me not logged in. But anyway, I've made the change to 55 characters. Go to 5:50 or so for direct confirmation the Miis are considered individual fighters and are counted in the total. Officially, there are 55 characters, Character Select slots are pointless and arbitrary. 55 Amiibo, 55 character trophies, 55 stats being tracked, 55 All Star trophies, and Sakurai saying there are 51 characters, specifically listing the Miis in that total (and then adding DLC for 55). There should be no doubt at all, there are 55 fighters in Smash 4. Balladofwindfishes (talk) 03:36, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
- Might help if you check the previous discussion on this. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:11, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- No, that discussion happened a year before my source. The official amount of characters is 55, officially, from Nintendo as of June 2015. That discussion doesn't really even end, the link to where an agreement was made is dead. I don't really see how the way the select screen is set up trumps literally every single other reference that has the roster at 55 characters. Balladofwindfishes (talk) 21:02, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- But the game itself says there are 53 including all currently-released DLC (Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy and Ryu as of this writing). You can check the in-game Stats page under the Records section in the Vault to see for yourself. I'm pretty sure the actual in-game counter serves as a fairly de-facto source for what the "official" count is. -- 68.37.227.226 (talk) 02:53, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- But then the game also has 58 character trophies, and 58 saved records (after February). Challenges requiring you to beat some mode with all characters also requires you to beat it with all Mii, separately. They are treated as wholly unique characters for all other aspects of the game. There are also 58 amiibo, and each Mii is treated as a separate amiibo. I cannot use my Brawler amiibo to have a Sword Fighter CPU, the game locks the menu to only Brawler. It's inconsistent in the count through the game and how the Mii are treated, but there are more places in the game that treat them separate than there are ones that count them as one. The direct that happened last Tuesday reinforced the total count being 58, in big bold letters: The Final Roster of the Game is 58 Characters. Sakurai himself even said it in a big showing of the total counts of everything in the game. Balladofwindfishes (talk) 17:37, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Release date addition for 3DS in other countries.
Could someone add the release dates for Hong Kong and Taiwan to the "Nintendo 3DS" line of release dates for the game? The release date is said to be July 23, 2015.

Could someone please block people who are making such edits that don't have reliable sources or confirmation of any kind of information??? Is there any way to get them to listen and stop making such edits like the previous edits made before my edit? Zacharyalejandro (talk) 22:39, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
