definition w.r.t. failure
[edit]The longstanding third line of this article had been
- the opposite of failure
Recently it was changed to
- the opposite of failure, since failure is a prerequisite for success, the true opposite of success could be considered as hopelessness.
Rather than a revert war, I bring the issue to the talk page.
Failure is not a prerequisite for success - it is possible to succeed at the first attempt!
The discussion belongs here, not on the page itself:
- Failure says ...it may be viewed as the opposite of success.*
- wikt:Success lists wikt:Failure as the antonym.

Suggestion : Create real article for Success
[edit]Wouldn't it be great to create a real article for success since there is a real article for failure ? Success is such an important topic, I don't understand how it could have been ignored by writers on Wikipedia for this long ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julienre (talk • contribs) 06:34, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose In a dictionary, absolutely. But I'm not sure the page we have at Success (concept), which appears to be a blend of original research, cobbled together concepts, and some uncited original writing meets the overwhelming standard needed for a primary topic, particularly since it's only getting around half the page views.--Yaksar (let's chat) 06:17, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support. Clear primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:44, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support This was a triumph, I'm making a note here, huge success. (But seriously, the concept is, well, the obvious WP:BROADCONCEPT for "success"). ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 14:01, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

- Support Concept article could use some work but it defines the primary topic, and hopefully without disambiguation it will get more eyes on it and receive improvement. DigitalIceAge (talk) 00:29, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support as primary topic, but the article could use a review. --Spekkios (talk) 03:48, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
