Star Wars template placement
[edit]Can we PLEASE once and for all determine whether or not the StarWars template belongs on this site? Because I seem to think it does, but Copperchair seems to disagree. I think a consensus is necessary because we're in the middle of a revert war, and I think that one over something as small as a template is really asinine. Anyone else agree with me on this? Anthony 21:34, August 16, 2005 (UTC)
- I have started a mediation process here. I dislike these universe spanning templates, as they tend to clutter the page. The category system should suffice in most cases, though a small stylish template could be very useful. - Dr Haggis -Talk 22:37, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Trivia
[edit]The last two points under "Trivia" sound more like something out of a game guide than something which I would consider an interesting side-note to the article. Is that just me? Confusing Manifestation 13:43, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
No, I agree they should be taken out KurtFF8 01:04, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Another Tie-In
[edit]Several missions in the X-Wing Alliance game refer to Shadows timeline, including the missions to acquire the design schematics of the Death Star II. --131.207.161.152 12:13, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll add that info to the page. --The Wookieepedian 14:23, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Ext. links
[edit]Maybe... maybe we could start pruning and splitting into sub-headers the external links? --maru (talk) contribs 18:13, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
- Sub-headers will work, IMHO. The Wookieepedian 18:14, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Opening crawl???
[edit]"Episode V.V"? Decimal roman numerals? This must be a joke of some kind. Anyway, this text is from the back cover of the book. It is not even used in the game or in the comics, which feature real opening crawls. I am going to delete this section in the very near future. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I must also point out that this articles has several errors and inconsistencies, such as referring to this project as a movie. This is not the case. Maclaine 21:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I agree, stuff like "The venture paved the way for the theatrical release of the Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition in the following year, and the later releases of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy." implies that the project had something to do with the movies, which is untrue. Sdicht 19:54, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting then that elements from it (the Outrider, SotE swoop bikes, etc.) were added to the Special Edition of ANH... ;) Plus you've got to understand the context of that quote. In that insatnce, it was referring to the fact that the marketing techniques were testbeds for the SEs and PT. The Wookieepedian 03:15, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Film Infobox
[edit]I am removing the infobox of this article, for one simple reason: Shadows of the Empire is not, and never was, a movie. It was not directed by John Knoll. His participation in the project was zero. Jon Knoles, an unrelated LucasArts employee, was the game project leader. The "cast" only appears in the game also. No movie script was written by Steve Perry and/or John Wagner, and so on. If you really dig on infoboxes, try creating one for Milton Soares's fan film. It will be (a little less) ridiculous. Maclaine 12:16, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- This was a media project going over several medias. Close enough i think. Jedi6-(need help?) 13:18, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Shadows of the empire.jpg
[edit]Image:Shadows of the empire.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:48, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

misc.
[edit]I restored some of the miscellaneous material deleted without discussion. Some of it was indeed to o trivial to include, and I didnt restore that part. DGG (talk) 14:33, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Music
[edit]What was the major new piece of music introduced with the videogame soundtrack? I wish I could describe it, but it's now being played on the Clone Wars cartoon commercial. What's the name of the song? --Criticalthinker (talk) 09:50, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

This is incorrect: "Representatives from Lucasfilm first approached John Williams to provide an original score. Williams declined" Williams was never approached for the project and was quite upset after he found out about it after the fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.16.115.66 (talk) 13:46, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

The conversation between Darth Vader and the Emperor
[edit]There was this conversation between Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine at the beginning of the book I'm very concerned about. In the book the Emperor says to Vader: "We have a new enemy. Luke Skywalker.", while in the 2004 DVD version of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back the Emperor says to Vader: "We have a new enemy. The young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker.".
Why didn't they include that line from the 2004 DVD version of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in the book Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire? Please give me one reason why they should've done it years ago. AdamDeanHall (talk) 18:40, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
