We cannot treat this like other reality shows

[edit]

With 400+ players, there's no practical way to try to use formats for other reality competitions like Survivor, where the player count tends to be in the 20-30 range (at most)

Perhaps once they are past Marbles, when there will be 30-odd players, we can talk about something, but not 400. Masem (t) 00:03, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With the win and loose game of glass Bridge some one made a mistake on the list 220.233.36.65 (talk) 12:03, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting game show, however it's not widely know how many early competitors were paid extras, several of my friends spent very cold days waiting for their blood bags to explode, they knew they were going to go.
Wiki editors always delete these comments when they are edited into the page.....
Guess it was due to the signed contracts for non disclosure? Jezzaboy21 (talk) 20:06, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jezzaboy21: Hi there! The edit you made was reverted because you did not provide a published reliable source for this information. To ensure verifiability, we cannot have articles based on what our friends told us. GoingBatty (talk) 21:21, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I understand, it just seems a deception on the part of the producers, but having seen screenshot of the non- disclosure doc it seens very watertight. It is apparently impossible to get the confirmation to prove that the contracted actors were there. Fair play the company have been clever with this.
My actor friends (GA and SA)"died" in the cold with the blood bags with colleagues numbering 15-20 on one day, they enjoyed the work though freezing on the airfield.
It just seems somewhat of false that a large amount of the contestants were hired extras at the start, who new their fate if not the exact moment of their demise. It undermines the whole concept.
I do have one line of enquiry so if I get anything concrete I will add it, my fingers are well and truly crossed here. Jezzaboy21 (talk) 09:35, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Page for Season 1

[edit]

Netflix has confirmed the show has been renewed for season 2. Should we move all information regarding season 1 to a new page? CobsonEnjoyer (talk) 16:35, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Doesnt make sense until S2 is airing. Plans can change (including Netflix which has canned shows that were in development) Masem (t) 16:38, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gameplay section

[edit]

Gameplay section is needlessly long, and completely unnecessary. We could just have a paragraph summing up the different challenges, and another paragraph dedicated to notable contestants and the winner, or something like that. My point is: it's way too fucking long Cereally8 (talk) 21:30, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I said above that tracking contestants ina 400+ player game is beyond the scope of Wikipedia, and that only the core gameplay details and any notable players are necessary. Masem (t) 17:42, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If it's British...

[edit]

...why is the prize given only in US dollars? Unless there is some very specific reason for that to do with the detail of the particular show, it should at the very least be given in UK currency with the US dollar amount shown in brackets! FloweringOctopus (talk) 11:01, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Likely because Netflix (US) put up the money to produce the show, and most of the contestants are US. Masem (t) 12:18, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think that would rather depend. If it is an American show that happens to have been outsourced to a UK studio, then certainly - but it would be more logical to say that it is UK-produced, than that it is British!
In the actual show, are the prize amounts given in US dollars or in pounds? Unless there's a different agreed convention, it would probably make sense to go with that (perhaps adding the other in brackets).
FloweringOctopus (talk) 18:33, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It was in dollars. Masem (t) 18:37, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
