Where is this article going?

It is not clear to me exactly what this article is about. If it just another name for Oceania, then a redirect might be more appropriate though I see there is already a disambiguation page South Sea. If it is going to be about the romantic (for want of a better word) view of the region as portrayed in literature and art, then that should be made clear in the lead. Attempting to Edit the article for clarity

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be doing some work to hopefully make this article more clear, or identify if this article should be redirected/merged with other articles on Wikipedia.
