Saudia name
[edit]The article states: "The Saudia name was dropped in the identity revamp, with Saudi Arabian Airlines name used."
Apparently the author was not aware that the new paint has "Saudi Arabian" in English and has "Saudia" in Arabic. Bfostersm (talk) 18:16, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Right as of today (29th May 2012) the airlines has decided to once again change its name this time back to the original name of Saudia, someone please change the title name. Thanks
Formatting of Fleet Table
[edit]How should the format for the fleet table is handled. Several airline pages have cargo/passenger fleet in seperate tables. Should we put them togther or leave them seperated. Snoozlepet (talk) 20:36, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- I feel the single table format looks way better than having several separate tables for cargo, passenger, etc. Also, the total and last updated date at the end of the single table is a good addition!
- On a semi-related note, the fleet table colours are also great in the Saudia article: much better than the multicoloured ones we see in so many other airline pages. Jasepl (talk) 10:02, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Delta Codeshares
[edit]The SkyTeam alliance apparently stirred up some Internet controversy in regards to Delta. Delta made a statement that they do not intend to codeshare with SAA: http://www.skyteam.com/en/About-Us/Press/News/2011/Nieuwsbericht-15/. SAA is going to be part of skyteam (http://www.skyteam.com/en/About-Us/Press/News/2011/Nieuwsbericht-15/), but the announcement doesn't claim there will necessarily be codesharing going on. Delta might still fit under "Alliances", but the description states "Saudi Arabian Airlines has codeshare agreements with the following airlines" so I took Delta off the list. Banning Israelis

- I dont think it should be included it clearly is not notable, it is up to individual airlines to allow who they like on the flight. Nearly all airlines profile passengers and dont allow any that may be a risk to fly, nothing unusual here. MilborneOne (talk) 21:15, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

And yet I was the one who started the talk while The Rambling Man repeatedly undid my additions while refusing to talk. He even deleted the discussions I was attempting to have after I exposed his repeated lies on his talk page. There's a point at which defending your associates becomes untenable. The Rambling Man crossed that line.
- You will find it is more to do with the the KSA government not allowing Israeli passport holders to enter of transit the country, little point it carrying passengers that they will have to bring back. Nothing unusual they will refuse anybody without a visa whoever you are. As this is fairly common practice in the airline world it is hardly notable, and as far as I know the laws of the United States dont apply to the rest of the world. Flyers often travel through a country just as a transit hub. Saudia won't carry Israelis even just to transit through the country. The airline laws of the US apply to all airlines that depart or arrive in the US including Saudia. Can you state where else in the airline world millions of people are banned on the basis of their nationality alone? Would you also consider similarly not notable if British Airways had an official policy of not carrying people for being Muslim?

Saudi Arabia has no official diplomatic relations with Israel so anybody with an Israeli passport cant get the relevant paperwork to transit or enter Saudi Arabia, it does not matter what the American law says if you dont have the right paperwork you cant travel on any airline. So no diplomatic relations/no paperwork no notability. As your addition needs to gain consensus on this page first perhaps we shall wait and see if anybody else things that not allowing somebody on your aircraft without the right paperwork is notable, thanks. Your political, religious or racial justifications can be added to the paragraph, but they have no bearing on the notability of the fact that millions of Israelis are banned from flying on Saudia due to their nationality alone, irrespective of source or destination. Had your nationality been banned I'm sure you would not be disputing its notability.

Airbus A380 in a VIP fleet?

In the news, Saudi Arabia and Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal owned Airbus A380 to serve Kingdom's long-haul trip, E.g New York - Jeddah.[1] The undelivered plane was to be called "Prestige".[2][3] The Guardian reported the plane was sold amid disputes between Forbes and Talal around the size of his fortune and his efforts to affect his ranking in Forbes billionaires list.[4]

Broken infobox template
[edit]The infobox at the top is broken. It looked perfect before revision 1220213834 ruined the entire template. I tried inserting two brackets to fix this but this resulted in the elimination of all parameters below "key_people". I would thank anyone that found a fix for this.
