Close paraphrase

[edit]

Here's a translation of the text used for the article from the Italian source information: <redacted per WP:C> The information is a close paraphrase of the information at http://www.irolli.it/chiesa_genova/5/chiesa-dei-santi-vittore-e-carlo.html. See Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing.--CaroleHenson (talk) 13:10, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that it is the Italian WP article which is the cause of the problem here. It reproduces virtually word for word the text of the article you cite and also includes it as an external link. The editor has however taken considerable care to improve the translation and has provided a number of variations on the original presentation. To what extent can the editors of the EN Wikipedia be held responsible for errors in the other wikis? It would be interesting to have further reactions on this. --Ipigott (talk) 19:41, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not uncommon from other wikis. I frequently have to be careful with Spanish wikipedia. Just rewrite it and alert them on italian wiki.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:59, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
