Maden language → Salawati language – 'Salawati' is now the commonly accepted name for this language (see e.g. https://www.ethnologue.com/language/xmx/, https://glottolog.org/resource/languoid/id/made1253). However, 'Salawati language' currently redirects to 'Maˈya language', which is incorrect. - @Kwamikagami: Do you have anything to add to this, given you created the redirect Salawati language is not a redirect? Ma'ya has a Salawati dialect, but it looks like "Salawati language" would refer to xmx. SilverLocust 🃏 💬 20:17, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- It was a rd for the Voegelin and Voegelin and early Ethnologue labels. Whether they actually intended Ma'ya as I interpreted it, or Maden, I couldn't say without going back to check. But neither source is important today, and could easily be handled with a hat note (assuming even that is needed, which it may not be), so IMO we should decide based on the preponderance of more recent sources. — kwami (talk) 06:14, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

- I'm not opposed to the move. Both Ethn and Glotto call Maden 'Salawati', so we probably should as well. Just a question of whether we want a hat note, which isn't relevant here. — kwami (talk) 22:11, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
