Requested move 1 December 2016

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Unless there is another Sainte-Marguerite River competing for this name, it is inappropriate to disambiguate. Once someone figures out what flows into what and creates a new article, this can be moved as appropriate. (closed by non-admin page mover) Bradv 01:05, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sainte-Marguerite RiverSainte-Marguerite River (Saguenay River) – It appears that this article is for the Sainte-Marguerite River in the Mont-Valin territory of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec that flows into the Saguenay River. However, there seems to be another Sainte-Marguerite River just west of Sept-Îles, Quebec and the Moïse River in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec. I'm having a hard time corroborating this because I'm not literate in French, don't live anywhere near Quebec, and there are indications that both rivers have embayments but the latter one near Sept-Îles flows directly into the Saint Lawrence River west of the 7-island chain fronting the town. I found references to a dam or barrage, which I believe is this one: Denis-Perron Dam shown as Barrage-Sainte-Marguerite in Google Maps. This all means that this article needs to be moved to another page indicating its parent river (Saguenay River) and a second river page needs to be created with the appropriate parent river (Saint Lawrence River) (or new page may just be called Saint-Marguerite River as with this article since it appears to be larger and flows into a larger river similarly to disambiguation with the Snake River). Comment There is also a version of the article in French (fr:Rivière_Sainte-Marguerite) that reads similarly to the English version and an associated disambiguation page that makes it even more confusing in my opinion (fr:Rivière_Sainte-Marguerite_(toponymie)) but gives location coordinates. So it appears there is a third river called Sainte-Marguerite River Northeast? that is a tributary of the Sainte-Marguerite River (Saguenay River), which is this article.--Curoi (talk) 07:50, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
