PREVALENCE: ME/cfs has a prevalence of ~0.42%, so it isn't "rare". By definition, a 'rare disease' affects less than 0.05% of people (Europe). A 1999 study by Jason et al found that 0.42% of the adult U.S. population met the criteria for ME/CFS. This prevalence has been quoted in two influential literature reviews – one by the US Institutes of Medicine (IOM) in 2015 , and one by the IACFS/ME in 2014. In addition, the IOM report also cited a 2006 study by Jason et al, comparing a wide variety of prevalence estimates from around the world. (references - Leonard A. Jason, Susan Torres-Harding, and Mary Gloria C Njoku, ‘The Face of CFS in the U.S.’, The CIFIDS Chronicle 2006, no. 1 (January 2006): 16–21, https://www.researchgate.net/publication/236995875)
I have no interest in this article but I noticed that it showed up in Recent Changes.
It appears that user Sajmeister1 (talk·contribs) has attempted to delete large portions of the article, or perhaps the whole article. Users SvanBueren (talk·contribs) and Skylar130 (talk·contribs) have reverted these changes. Perhaps there can be some discussion on the issue here, or maybe it could move to WP:AfD or to even WP:RFC.
I cannot fail to note, however, that in this edit Sajmeister1 purports to be Begum's digital marketing manager. This is very clearly a WP:COI situation. While such paid editors can still edit, their changes need to be discussed first. BirdValiant (talk) 02:44, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
