The original article by User:80.229.22.229 seems a lot like an advertisement or vanity piece. The article lists out numerous individual actors and members of the Rooster Teeth Production team. The names are Wikilinked, but none of these individuals have articles at present. It it not certain that they would qualify as meriting their own articles. I am removing the list of people, but letting the Rooster Teeth article stand. Johntex 18:50, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
I was going to list this under VfD (as my first listing), but noticed that you tried to clean it up. FYI, it looks like80.229.22.229 restored the original vanity/advertisement version. I think that listing it on VfD is a good idea, though. What do you think? --Deathphoenix 19:29, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
I agree. The revert by 80.229.22.229 makes it look more and more like an act of vanity/advertisement. Johntex 19:42, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
80.229.22.229 has now added a link to the company, but he/she has also allowed the individual names to be removed. I am adding two additional links to try to make the article something other than an advertisement pointing to the production company. What do you think? Johntex 20:32, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Personally, I'd list it on VfD. The subject isn't notable enough, and I've seen less-obvious examples of vanity ads listed there. However, you're making a concerted effort to clean up the article and, as you said, 80.229.22.229 has allowed the removal of individual names. I'll leave the final decision up to you. If you decide to list, I'll vote delete, but if you decide not to list, I'll keep this article in my watch list and help you keep it ad-free. :-) --Deathphoenix 20:42, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
I am a bit ambivalent here. Rooster Teeth Productions is certainly not famous, and the first version was strongly vanity/advertisement. On the other hand, this company is responsible for Red vs Blue which has a substantial article here, and which enjoys something of a cult following. I do not plan to list it on VfD unless it gets reverted back to vanity/advertisement. I think we should both keep it on our watch list for a while and see what happens. I appreciate your help very much. -- Johntex 22:00, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
You're right, that is a substantial article. No problem, we'll make sure to get only the good from80.229.22.229. --Deathphoenix 00:32, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC)
I have read your discussion, and I have something to say. I did not intend this to be a "vanity piece" as I don't have any affilations with RTP. Please pardon my mistakes as this was my first article. I also apolagise for returning it to my original design, as I thought I had not saved the article properly. You do not need to worry about me "commersialising" it again.- User ID:80.229.22.229
- Thanks for your post 80.229.22.229. Don't worry about any mistakes you may have made. We welcome your contribution to Wikipedia, and we hope that you will be able to continue contributing. I hope I didn't seem too negative in my comments. We get so many articles that are self-promoting, it is easy to jump to conclusions that may not be accurate. BTW, while you are certainly welcome to continue posting anonymously, posting under a log-in name may tend to cause some people (myself included) to award more benefit of the doubt. Again, welcome to Wikipedia!

- Yes, thank you for the post and explanation. I agree with pretty much everything what Johntex said, and the fact that we (well, he) decided to keep the article and that we are working on it should tell you that your article is relevant. Congratulations on your first article, and welcome to Wikipedia! You posted the above post at the same time that I was writing my post, so I'd also like to welcome you under your new login name, and hope to work with you more in the future. --Deathphoenix 22:56, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Merge the Rooster Teeth actors' articles into here?
I was thinking that it might be a good idea to merge the articles about individial RT actors — Michael Burns, Matt Hullum,Gustavo Sorola, Jason Saldaña, Joel Heyman, and Geoff Ramsey — into here. Joel Heyman has an acting career outside of RT and has played minor roles in well-known shows, but his real notability right now comes from Rooster Teeth, and only RT. Thoughts? --TKD 11:24, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Personally I'm against the idea and can't believe someone went through with it. That's like saying the cast of Full House's bios(except the Olsen Twins)should be in the Full House page.--67.34.181.210 (talk) 19:49, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Complete rewrite
I just redid the entire article. Some highlights:
- Added some pre-RvB history of the company.
- Put in an infobox.
- Removed the list of voice actors. This is probably more useful in the articles on the individual productions.
- Removed the trivia section. I incorporated the information on cockbite into the lead. The item on death as a theme seemed to beoriginal research, and the reference to the Rooster Teeth logo probably belongs in the Red vs Blue article.
- Added a bunch of references.
- Summarized the group's three productions here.

Splitting up the RoosterTeeth template
I've made a proposal to redesign the growing {{RoosterTeeth}} template, splitting it into four small templates; see Template talk:RoosterTeeth#Splitting this template. Feedback is welcome. — TKD::Talk 06:19, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Clark second source: G4's Attack of the Show
The controversy and snippets of both the original and director's cut of the Clark commercial were featured on the show today, November 30. They basically said the same quote as in the article "it makes me look like a punk". They noted Rooster Teeth were behind the original commercial, didn't expect the reaction, "thought it was cute", and the show proceeded to show the beginning of the director's cut to "he threw it to himself!" The hosts, Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn, made comments; Pereira agreed he wouldn't be happy if a commercial showed him "owned again and again", Munn liked the comment in the director's cut about him being "The One, he's Neo" (her paraphrasing). Pereira mockingly noted that this probably brought Clark more publicity than he's ever had before. The whole issue was profiled near the beginning of the show in the daily "Around the 'Net" segment. Why am I telling you all this? Because I don't know how to really cite a show or what parts of this are notable enough to be thrown in. Someone else do it. -- Viewdrix 03:24, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- I found a brief mention on IGN, which verifies that a director's cut did exist. I'm not sure that we can do much better, but at least this article is now devoid of {{fact}} tags. In fact, it's very close to GA, in my book. The only thing lefgt thaty I would do is to cite the creation of the comics to a site news post or two. Yes, it's a primary source, but it's good enough for that sort of uncontroversial material. If anyone can find third-party mentions of the comics, all the better. — TKD::Talk 10:05, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- All I got is a Luke McKay journal entry, but you have to sing in to view it. He seemed to come up with the idea himself, made sketches, arough and [1] test comic, etc., and after announcing his intent in a journal, sugarmoney came on and they worked on it together secretly until the first comic. The news post for that comic doesn't contain much other than "they did this cool thing, check it out". The next news post is only notable for announcing it's becoming a regular thing, and that it would be Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Saturday postings done now were not initially planned. To-do for GA
I'm thinking that this is pretty close to GA status. Basically, I think the following would be a good idea:
- Expand the description of 1-800-Magic a little. Can anyone find any reviews for this?
- Source some of the stuff for Rooster Teeth Comics.
- A final copy-edit and read-through for clarity to outside readers would probably be a good idea.

Reference 15
The article states that Rooster Teeth created a five part miniseries to promote Halo 3. The reference cited is "New Red vs. Blue Series." As far as I can tell, no such series exists. The citation is a reference to itself. Recovery One and Out Of Mind are spin-offs of the original Red vs. Blue, and as such are created using Halo 2, not Halo 3. If there is another series, it should be listed with an appropriate citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by68.105.188.217 (talk) 03:36, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Explanation for removing the plot/setting of Reconstruction
Before anyone asks, I removed the paragraph about the plot and setting of Reconstruction because this article is about the company as a whole. We don't need to go into a whole lot of detail about the individual plot lines of the series. — TKD::Talk 02:05, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Merge/redirect 1-800-Magic and Supreme Surrender here?
I've searched Google and Google News, and haven't found any reliable sources for 1-800-Magic and Supreme Surrender. Practically everything seems to be to the official site, video upload sites, blogs, forums, and fan sites. Even if were to admit Knuckles' Xboxfanboy Joystiq reference in 1-800-Magic as a legitimate self-published expert source, that'd be one viable reference. I suggest redirecting these two articles to Rooster Teeth Productions#Other machinima, with perhaps a slight merge to discuss the basic premise of each mini-series. Unfortunately, I don't think that these are sustainable as articles with the available sources. Normally, I'd be bold and merge right now, but I wanted to check whether I'm missing anything. — TKD::{talk} 02:28, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've added {{mergeto}} and {{mergefrom-multiple}} tags. If no one objects soon, I'll complete the merge. — TKD::{talk} 12:56, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Done. — TKD::{talk} 06:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Just a note that I didn't merge anything at the outset. A brief description of the premise of each series might be nice, but I don't consider it that necessary because Rooster Teeth isn't particularly known for these series, so we have to be careful about undue weight. They're better (and primarily) known for Red vs. Blue and, to a lesser extent, The Strangerhood. — TKD::{talk} 08:11, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Merge Rooster Teeth personnel here?
A few years ago, I asked whether we should merge Rooster Teeth personnel here, specifically those who aren't known outside of RT (that isJoel Heyman would be exempt). The thought was, at the time, that the merged info would be unwieldy. Given the rise of WP:BLP since then, I think that it's prudent to re-examine the situation. Basically, many of the bio articles are a very brief, unsourced biography and cast list and/or filmography. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think that the biographical information can be reliably sourced, except the stuff that pertains directly to Rooster Teeth's history. I guess that you could glean some stuff from their journals, but that's not how we should be writing a BLP; in fact, an article cannot be based primarily on self-published sources. I suggest that we create a Personnel section in the Rooster Teeth article to hold pertinent information. Cast lists can be gleaned from the individual works' articles, but there's a ton of overlap, so it's not really necessary. Even Burnie Burns' article deals more with the history and prominence of Rooster Teeth. —TKD [talk][c] 11:52, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Mostly Done. I was looking at featured articles on companies for comparison, and most don't have a separate personnel section, but instead work relevant people into the running text. We should do the same, I think. i believe that there are sources on how Zuelch and others got involved. I'm still mulling over what to do with the articles on Yomary Cruz and Kathleen Zuelch. I don't know that a good article could ever be written on them, but they have some apparently visible roles outside of machinima. I think that the best course would be to work into this article how they got involved with RT and then redirect; the article currently doesn't mention them at all.—TKD [talk][c] 21:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- An anonymous user reverted my redirect of Burnie Burns, calling it "ridiculous". Since we have a firm biographies of living persons policy, I think that we should be conservative in what we write and how we present it. Again, the issues are that the article (and others like it) are poorly sourced, and basically contain information that really belongs in Rooster Teeth Productions or articles about their works. Biographical information was unsourced, and the information that has been covered by third-partyreliable sources is really related to RT's beginnings and growth. —TKD [talk][c] 03:33, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- While I do not oppose the move, could the articles be briefly restored? I wish to move articles to the Red vs Blue wikia, then I'll be happy leaving the redirect. For a more knowledgeable and relaxed Wikipedia- Nemesis646 (talk) 18:17, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Staff List
Why isn't Nathan listed as company staff in the Rooster Teeth personnel box at the bottom of the page? Also, according to the the staff list (http://redvsblue.com/staff/) on their website, Gavin and Jason should be there too. Is there are reason why Nathan and Gav aren't listed at all and Jason is only listed as a voice actor? --58.165.215.59 (talk) 02:56, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Minor structure change
I just changed "products" to "machinima", and moved "webcomics" down to "other products". It's more consistent this way. It didn't make much sense that the webcomic was up with products, but other regularly released or updated stuff like AchievementHunter or Rooster Teeth Shorts was down below. Tell me if you think it was better the other way, but it makes a lot more sense now. Also I split the wall of text in the "other products" section into subheadings. --Roeas (talk) 05:12, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

RoosterTeeth.com
The community site is probably one of the most important parts of Rooster Teeth, having nearly a million members and the community being one the most notable things about the company. I reckon it should get a section, but since I wasn't a member of the site when the user-profiles and the forums and all that were introduced, I'm probably not the best person to write about it. Just saying, I reckon someone should. --60.229.15.95 (talk) 02:11, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Rooster Teeth Productions → Rooster Teeth – The company is almost if not always referred to as simply Rooster Teeth. There are no other companies called Rooster Teeth, and the disambiguation of "Productions" is entirely unnecessary. Most of all, when searching "Rooster Teeth" on Google, 28.2 million search results come out of it. However, when searching "Rooster Teeth Productions", a mere 993,000 results come out of it. Obviously, simply Rooster Teeth is more used. Not to mention that most of the links for Rooster Teeth Productions also show up when searching for Rooster Teeth. Short version: It's just unnecessary. Proposed merge with Matt Hullum
I propose this article be merged with Rooster Teeth Productions. This man has no real notability outside of the company, so unless notability should be proven, he should redirect there. Beerest355 Talk 22:51, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- He does have some notability, he has appeared in several hollywood films not associated with Rooster Teeth. I guess it would ultimately depend on whether or not someone comes looking here because they saw him in those movies, or because of his work with Rooster Teeth.--Licourtrix (talk) 22:52, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
- I think there's really no reason to merge, he has done other work outside of Rooster Teeth and he should deserve his own page.--Ral539 (talk) 12:06, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- His work outside of RT is almost exclusively related to VFX management, not acting or appearing in movies, and I wouldn't say notable on it's own. He wasn't even the VFX director of the movies he worked on. The sole source on his page (IMDB) lists the vast majority of his work as RT related. Support Rhowryn (talk) 13:39, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- It has been proposed several times to merge all RT related articles into the Rooster Teeth article. Frankly, Hullum should have enough notability to warrant his own article, there just aren't enough sources for it. For now, support. Corvoe (speak to me) 16:36, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Rooster Teeth
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Rooster Teeth's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Proposed Community/Culture/Website Section
I'm suggesting a new section detailing the history and role the community site and its members have played over the years. RoosterTeeth.com is home to a large (over 1.5 million registered users) and longstanding (since 2004) online community. Members of the company have emphasized the importance of maintaining their own community many times, on their podcast[1][2][3][4][5][6], in journals[7][8][9][10][11][12], videos and interviews.[13][14][15][16][17] There's no less than a dozen people (Intern Blaine Gibson, Community Manager Barbara Dunkelman, Wed developer Ben King, Composers Nico Audy-Rowland and Jeff Williams, Achievement Hunter's Caleb Denecour, Ray Narvaez Jr, Brandon Light and Kdin Jenzen, RoosterTeeth Animated Adventures creator Jordan Cwierz and RWBY co-creator Kerry Shawcross) presently working at the company directly culled through the community. RTX was founded for their community, after at least a half dozen RT/RvB fan or community events (RvBTO, RvBCanWest, RvBUK, RTPhilly, RooTeeth, RvBMN, RvBCA, RvBTX, SideQuest and more) occurred around the world. Notable people to come from the community include Kent Nichols and Gavin Free. In addition, community members have provided all sorts of content to different productions over the years. Thanks to twitter, tumblr and reddit, the community has grown and become more diverse than ever. The company and community are inextricably linked and since it's confirmed that a new version of the community site is coming, I expect that relationship to continue well into the future. Thoughts? Should we call the separate parts Subsidiaries or Divisions. The infobox has a field for both which made me wonder which to use. Any ideas? EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 20:18, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
- Divisions is better. That's what the Achievement Hunter article describes them as, and although they possibly could count as a subsidiary, most of those other ones do not. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 19:59, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done I've made the change, it makes more sense in context. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 00:20, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
