  • I have add it important details on Rodimus page to explain more about that character in transformers g1. Why don't we change the name of rodimus prime to rodimus (other incarnations) by putting Rodimus Energon, Rodimus Timeline & Rodimus Animated in this page. Like this rodimus G1 has his own page. Hasbro sp (Talk) 4:15, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

This article is currently pretty much a duplicate of Hot Rod (Transformers). JIP | Talk 07:18, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorta Merge We had this talk once before. At one point there was most of info was on the Rodimus Page with a notice to look at that page, but there is also a character from Generation 2 named Hot Rod, who wasn't ever called Rodimus, so he was on Hot Rod page. I don't know why the information on Generation 1 Hot Rod/Rodimus was put back here. Mathewignash (talk) 00:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, the Hot Rod-related section in this article should be cut out, due to the duplication; while the Rodimus-related section (Transformers: Energon) could be merge into Rodimus Prime.
OR, just merge Rodimus Prime, Rodimus into Hot Rod (Transformers). Well. --TX55 (talk) 02:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It makes no sense to merge Energon Rodimus to Rodimus Prime, as he was NEVER called that name. G1 Hot Rod has been Called Rodimus in his most recent toy releases, so I say this - put Energon and G1 characters on the Rodimus page. Put the G2 character on the Hot Rod page. Rodimus Prime shouldn't have his own page, since he was just a form G1 Rodimus took for one year. You can have a forward from the Rodimus Prime page to G1 Rodimus. Mathewignash (talk) 00:22, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Even Hot Rod is released as "Rodimus" in recent year, but his in-fiction name is still "Hot Rod" in most fiction. So his article's title should remain "Hot Rod (Transformers)". Things of Rodimus Prime should be put under "Hot Rod (Transformers)" as a section or something else since he is the same person as Hot Rod in several continuity. For a page "Rodimus", its content should be something like:
==Transformers: Generation 1==
{{main(or see)|Hot Rod (Transformers)}}
==Transformers: Energon==
(Things form Rodimus#Transformers: Energon)

--TX55 (talk) 02:23, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rodimus should be the main article, this is his official name now, with Hasbro no longer owning rights to the name anymore. 71.118.165.26 (talk) 04:49, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest the title should be the "Hot Rod", because it is still his in-fiction name. It is not not necessarily take every thing's standard to toy/Hasbro. It only needs to note that his toy name was changed to "Rodimus" in the article. --TX55 (talk) 12:09, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well since Energon the name "Rodimus" has been used instead of "Hot Rod" Markcambrone (talk) 03:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The name Rodimus was used for the 3H and TFCC club comics for the G1 character. IDW still calls him Hot Rod. Mathewignash (talk) 04:19, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Energon Rodimus and G1 Hot Rod are not the same character. 3H/TFCC Rodimus is the upgraded version of Hot Rod (though there isn't significant difference on appearance), kinda like Optimus Primal's name was changed to Optimal Optimus. --TX55 (talk) 07:39, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just merge Hot Rod into Rodimus and not the other way around. I mean the Bluestreak name was changed to Silverstreak and it was kept that!Markcambrone (talk) 03:37, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, I've ever though Silverstreak should be moved back to Bluestreak several weeks ago.(Because he is still called "Bluestreak" in most fictions) If we keep moving characters' names just because Hasbro lost the trademark. It will be very ... well, troublesome.

For example, nobody moved "Shockwave (Transformers)" to "Shockblast" then back to "Shockwave (Transformers)". (Note: Hasbro lost the name "Shockwave" before, that's why his Binaltech is released under the name "Shockblast". However, Hasbro managed to get "Shockwave" back eventually after someone else had claimed it.)

We don't have page named "Autobot Jazz" or "Constructicon Devastator" or something like that (By the way, "Skid-Z" is under "Skids (Transformers)" rather than a independent page. Maybe we could put Energon Rodimus as a section under "Hot Rod (Transformers)"), that's why I insist that we should keep "Hot Rod (Transformers)" page and move "Silverstreak" back to "Bluestreak (Transformers)". --TX55 (talk) 04:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Acts" shouldn't have an apostrophe. Fixed that for you. Glad to see some people are way nerdier than I am otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.26.187.229 (talk) 11:58, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hot Rod

[edit]

Change his name to Hot Rod.It makes more sense to use Hot Rod as that how he identified.Rodimus and the other variation are only used for his toys.Also can somebody use a picture/screenshot of Hot Rod from the 1986 movie in his profile not his toy.Also might as well combine with Rodimus Prime to to show the different variant of the character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.27.115.116 (talk) 07:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Requested moves/currentHot Rod (Transformers) — Changing it to Hot Rod, the original name of the character and is better known by it, therefore making it easier to identify with.The name Rodimus is a marketing name used for the toys and other incarnation of this character. It there does not reflect the original G1 version , Hot Rod which this page represent.. Thade86 (talk) 08:59, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, there was already a lot of talk about this, and I think it's best to keep the page on what the CURRENT name of a character is. Mathewignash (talk) 10:55, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The current name use dby Hasbro is Rodimus. He was Rodimus Prime for one year back in 1986. Mathewignash (talk) 09:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with this page

[edit]

1. There are now too many non-free images on this page. This page used to have more images, but the image-police cracked down and we removed most of them. So adding more images is NOT helping. 2. The Transformers template at the bottom of this page is done completely wrong. We have agreed in the Transformers wiki project to only add that box to articles linked to in the box. This is NOT one of them. It needs to be removed or revised. Either way you only add the Transformers tamplate link, not the whole text of the template! Mathewignash (talk) 19:12, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay my bad for the template and thanks for correcting it.I'm not sure whats the wiki limit for having non-free images on a page but there only 4 here and pages like Ratchet seem have more.Hopefully they get approval since the pictures are used for appropriate critical analysis and representation of the article .Thade86 (talk) 08:55, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basiclly don't use that arguement when the image police come in, or they will delete the images on this page AND on the Ratchet page. Sometimes we get one per character, but since this page is all about G1 Rodimus, we get one Picture. Most pages that get inspected are allowed only ONE non-free image. We were lucky to get two.
