WikiProject Transformers was formed to foster the creation and improvement of Transformers-related articles, and to establish guidelines for those articles. Its members endeavor to produce an authoritative reference on Transformers materials, including canon and non-canon, which is easy to read and has a consistent style. To participate, simply add your name to the participants section. To discuss this project, see the Talk page.
This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by JL-Bot (talk·contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself. If an article is missing from the list, make sure it is tagged (e.g. {{WikiProject Transformers}}) or categorized correctly and wait for the next update. See WP:RECOG for configuration options.
Tag the talk pages of Transformers-related articles with the {{WikiProject Transformers}} banner.
Gather support and attract TransFans to support and assist in the WikiProject.
Discuss standards, starting point, and come to agreement on some uniformity among Transformers pages (the most complicated and obvious being a standardized format for a Transformer biography).
Begin the task of updating individual Transformers pages.
Discuss the possible merging TF Series and TF Universes. Upon consensus, execute whatever the going-forward plan might be.
Userbox enthusiasts can put these boxes on their user pages to show that they are a member of this project. There are four custom-made for this project (so far) and two already-existing Transformer userboxes. (Due to minor system-default changes in appearance, the most accurate view will be seen by clicking on the code text at right; the "WikiProject Transformers" text is a purple shade in all boxes.)
Transformers (plain text, without italics) should be used when describing the fictional universe, franchise, or related phenomena:
e.g. The Transformers franchise is one of the most lucrative in television history.
e.g. In the Transformers fictional universe, Optimus Prime is an Autobot leader.
Transformers (italics) should be used when referring to specific series, genres, episodes, and movies:
e.g. The Transformers television series debuted in the US in 1984.
Since the name of the original series is properly Transformers, and to promote clarity, full in-text references to the original series should generally appear as the retronym Generation 1.
Article names will utilize the plural form of Transformers and the same page name with a singular form, if it exists, will redirect to the plural page.
This consistency will enable more efficient searching and editing, prevent edit wars/scuffles (this has happened with article names in the past), and provide a uniform format to individual pages.
Late 1970s Freightliner 18-wheeled tractor-trailer (G1) (Later forms have usually been variants of the original. Marvel and Dreamwave comics have depicted him in a variety of Cybertronian truck forms. In Devil's Due comics he has had several forms including that of a Cobra H.I.S.S. tank and a 1920's truck.
The table to the right is the Infobox character template for Optimus Prime. Note that the image has been removed, as Wikipedia fair use policy prohibits the use of fair use images outside the article namespace. Clicking edit on the right will enable you to view and copy the source text to use on film articles. If you have any questions or problems with this table, you can discuss them at Template talk:Infobox Transformers character.
The parameters for the infobox are:
{{Infobox character| name =| series =[[Transformers]]| image =| image_size =| alt =| caption =| first =| last =| voice =| lbl1 =[[Voice acting|Voiced by]] (English)
