A fact from Reactive Scientific Research Institute appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 21 July 2022 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
This Wikipedia is made by humans for humans. Russian artillery kills thousands of civilians of Ukraine. I belive it is not the right time to show a Katyusha picture on this Wiki main page. Xx236 (talk) 08:26, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are entitled to your opinion, however I disagree as you are basically promoting censorship. We recently had J. K. Rowling as a featured article on the main page, should this had been removed due to her views on Transgender people? Wikipedia should not be suppressing information or avoiding controversial subjects. Suggest you review WP:DYKAIM, in particular "Wikipedia's goal is to build and maintain an encyclopedia covering all branches of human knowledge.". No mention of censorship.
And I agree that the Russian - Ukraine war is terrible, but note this article is about a Soviet research lab that existed 80 years ago when Ukraine and Russia were both part of the Soviet Union. In fact the two key people that the article promotes, Sergei Korolev and Valentin Glushko are Ukrainian. Ilenart626 (talk)
Another unsupported assertion which is irrelevant to a Soviet research lab that existed 80 years ago. NII TP became the Keldysh Research Center which is now in the field of rocket & space industry specializing in rocket engine manufacturing and space power engineering. No idea what Rosaviakosmos also does and is it relevant to a picture taken 80 years ago of rockets being fired by Soviet personnel, ie Russian and Ukraine personnel fighting a common enemy?
