Page Facelift
[edit]Went down a real rabbit hole with this, but I feel like I filled it in quite nicely. I also organized the artist list into something less tiring on the eyes and included a bunch of citations and references. There's still plenty missing, but there are only so many hours in the day. Feel free to add!
The studio features heavily in the American Valhalla, Iggy Pop documentary too. So between that, the no Reservations and Sonic Highways I made a "rancho de la luna in other media" section. I also included the Mezcal, because: why not? Top pocket man (talk) 00:42, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Coordinate error
[edit]{{geodata-check}}
The coordinates need the following fixes:
- the coordinates show someplace in Canada.
Rancho De La Luna is in the California desert near Joshua Tree
138.69.160.1 (talk) 16:46, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- I've removed the existing coordinates as clearly incorrect, but I've not been able to find a source for the exact location of the studio to put in new ones. Since their own website is rather vague on this point, I'm wondering if they don't want their exact location known unless you have business there. — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 19:00, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- There being no response, I'm deactivating the {{geodata-check}} tag and putting {{coord missing|San Bernardino County, California}} on the article page. — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 21:03, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Everybody, as mentioned below the proprietor Dave Catching does NOT want geo located coordinates of the studio, as it is also a private residence. Let's please respect that, ok? Top pocket man (talk) 00:40, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Fu Manchu
[edit]Link pointed to page for Fu Manchu character instead of band. Corrected link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.196.2.46 (talk) 09:15, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
Location
[edit]Dave Catching has expressed numerous times that he doesn't like "drop in" visitors/fans. I'm not sure why the location of the studio, which is also a residence, should be included in this article, and I would move that it be deleted.
Also, there are a number of other media appearances and press that could be cited in this article. To say nothing of an easier to read client list. Top pocket man (talk) 17:35, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
ok!! fun story, I contacted Dave Catching to get photo release rights for a picture on a band that recorded at the studio. I mentioned that the GPS co-ordinates of the studio were on the wikipedia page and asked if that was a thing that was wanted.
He very much does not. I am taking it out. Also, i'm going to try to put the page in a little more order and add some of the dozens and dozens of citations about the studio to make this article easier to read and more cogent. Top pocket man (talk) 22:20, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
