When does this place close? coz the article says "It is still (until summer 2008), home to an infantry battalion" and then a bit later it says "The Army are due to leave Shackleton Barracks in September 2007". Please help. Ryan431407:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I noticed that. I don't know the actual status of the base at the mo. All the former barrack homes outwith the base have either been sold or will be sold, they are all empty now. I know for a fact that British Army helicopters do land at the base, I also believe that the Army fixed-wing observation aircraft has also landed. I believe that this is simply for refuelling according to ATC transmissions. Where the personnel stay is unknown to me. I agree that it needs a bit of research so that the article can be updated.--Cyber Fox (talk) 16:27, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
