Will come back shortly. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 13:56, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article definitely up to the mark. It clearly doesn't satisfy the GA criteria. I fear that it may not be made to the mark for the following reasons:

  • Has lot of issues with the MoS, needs a thorough copy-edit from an experienced copy editor.
  • The Education section is too small and needs considerable expansion.
  • Expansion of career section is also required.
  • More importantly the article is not stable. It has been constantly edited by several editors in the recent times. As he has recently taken over the chief of the army, this article will be edited regularly as long he continues in the position because he come to the news every now and then.
  • See if you can expand the sections as mentioned.
Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 12:29, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Krishna Chaitanya Velaga: Thanks for comments. Will work on MoS and copyediting, but as for expanding education and career sections, I don't I would be able to expand it since there's nothing else that i could cite from reliable third party sources. Should we have to wait until the subject get more coverage? --Saqib (talk) 16:31, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The article is perfect B-class, but I doubt it satisfies the GA criteria. One of the foremost reason is that the article is not stable, and also need to dealt with MOS. Even if it reaches GA for now, as he is the current Pak Army Chief, the information changes rapidly and the article may edited by many, will bleed the GA status. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 08:12, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If this is the case, lets close this nomination for a while. --Saqib (talk) 17:21, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since Bajwa has been posted in X Corps thrice,[1] which is the army's important and largest corps,[2] Bajwa has good experience of handling affairs in Kashmir.[2][3] But reportedly, he considers religious extremism to be a bigger threat to national security in Pakistan rather than India.[2] He belongs to the infantry's 16 Baloch Regiment[2][4] and 62nd Pakistan Military Academy Long Course.[3] However, he lack the experience of armed conflict because he has never been posted in a war zone area.[5]

"...However, he lack(s) the experience..." 's' may be added to lacks in the sentence appearing in the third last line of the above para. Thanks. 182.188.45.187 (talk) 10:02, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Some Edits Objected by Saqib

[edit]

@Saqib: I will proceed one by one with the explanation of my edits. Pls let me know what kind of objections you have on them, as you have reverted all my edits in past.

1. Commands Held: 16th Chief of Army Staff (Pakistan Army)
[edit]

In section Infobox military person, I have added the words "(Pakistan Army)", as to remove ambiguity (Regarding the Army's name whom he is the Army Chief) on on some devices, where current command position is the first line after main heading.

2. Page should be moved under the title "General Qamar Javed Bajwa"
[edit]

Page should be moved under the title "General Qamar Javed Bajwa" as the current heading over his pic suggests. Name like Qamar Javed Bajwa could be of any common man. As he is a current army chief of Pakistan Army so in print & electronic media, always named as General Qamar Javed Bajwa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atagill (talkcontribs)

@Atagill: I have amended the infobox. Regarding page name, you need to see our policy on how to name our articles about individuals: WP:NCP. Titles or styles such as "General" cannot be used in the article titles of BLPs. As an example, you may see the articles on officers of highest ranks in several nations' armies. I hope this helps. --Saqib (talk) 05:46, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The page carries a false information. General Bajwa is the supreme Commander of Pakistan Country. However, Some Indian Hacker just purposelessly did it to malign the image of our army general. This violates the Wikipedia Rules. It must be corrected. Dragon Warrior 2 (talk) 15:23, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Public Image of Pakistani COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa:-

Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed the Chief Of Army Staff of Pakistan in November,2016.

Bajwa is considered a highly controversial figure in Pakistan due to his strong interference in the Pakistani politics from the time he has been appointed.

As it has been a part of the history of Pakistan that the military dictators have always sided the civil politicians in Pakistan to keep their rule

continue.Likewise, General Bajwa also, is accused of besiding two Civil Governments of Pakistan , The Nawaz-led Government and the Imran-led Government.

Many Pakistani politicians have been criticising him on his political interference because it is not considered good for Pakistan's interest that the Military Establishment of Pakistan interfering in the Country's Civil Politics.

General Bajwa was named among the most powerful people of the world in Forbes ranking , just because of his strong hold in Pakistan and his control on the Civil Governments.

  • Has Imran Khan’s ouster opened a Pandora’s box in Pakistan? [2]
  • Imran Khan dissolved Pakistan’s parliament. How did that happen? [3]
  • General Qamar makes it to Forbes' 'Most Powerful People of 2018' list [4]

I can’t find anywhere to report this so I’ll put it here: why was the entire edit under ‘controversy’ removed by raheelejaz907 in Nov 2022? Avoidance of an edit-war

[edit]

User M.Ashraf333 is continuously removing my 'controversial' section of the post, as well as the 'personal life' section, claiming that I represent some sort of political bias. This is despite the fact that my additions contain a wide number of sources, and nowhere do I claim that my posts are proven facts. Everywhere I have posted 'claimed' and 'accused'; for example:

"Ahmed Noorani claimed" and "alleging". This is also true for the last paragraph of the controversy section, where I have clearly put Arshad Sharif's mother "claiming" the charges against General Bajwa, as well as "Sharif insinuated"; as you can see, nowehere are my additions to this page intended to be shown as a proven fact.

I have made these additions, with sources, because I feel that they are relevant to the wiki page- especially one that relates to a national figure.

On the 3rd paragraph I have put a section to tell both sides of the story as well. If the user disagrees with my additions, they are free to add anything here, or anywhere else on the page, to shed further light on both sides of the story- (with sources of course), though by no means should this be an opportunity to blatantly censor relevant information- and in my opinion this attitude of censorship is against everything that Wikipedia stands for.

Lastly, the user is removing the 'personal life' section of the page, despite the fact that my additions have nothing to do with political biases and is purely relevant information about the personal life of the wiki person in question.

Each time the user removes my post, they state no other reason for doing so other than accusing me of 'political bias'- despite the fact that I am literally just posting relevant info gathered from sources. On the latest undo of my post they have begun slinging personal attacks based off my edit history. It takes me quite some time for my contributions to Wikipedia, and seeing the repeated personal attacks of bias in my attempts to tell both sides of a story is quite hurtful.

I am hereby requesting the mods to view this case as they see fit, in order to prevent an edit-war.

Thank You! Umer23459 (talk) 23:18, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The user is is clearly showing signs of being a disruptive user; he is now threatening me with being blocked from editing this page, and is accusing me of vandalism. Umer23459 (talk) 23:08, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Umer23459 and @Umer2345, I had already been reply to you on Admin noticeboard regarding your contribution in Qamar Javed Bajwa. Your continuous contribution about Qamar Javed Bajwa is really disrupting as you are trying to add controversial topics to BLP without any credible references and authority, who have the right to take decisions i.e. Supreme Court. You include daily routine news and statements from leaders of a political party. Ahmed Noorani's allegations have never been confirmed by the government and the Arshad Sharif murder case is still pending in the Supreme Court. If you look at your contribution timeline for the last 3 months, you are very consistent to include these things only on this page. The timeline of your contributions and continued deep interest make you vulnerable to a political bias. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 11:21, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am literally just reporting relevant events to the page- and stuff like the Arshad Sharif's mother claiming Bajwa had a hand in his murder is relevant- whether or not it is true is a different story, but the fact remains that it is relevant. Wikipedia is a place for that. Umer23459 (talk) 00:17, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@M.Ashraf333: You have been asked to discuss the content dispute on this talk page. I insist you do not remove the cited material until discussed or it would be violation of 3rr rule. --Saqib (talk) 08:45, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqib، I have already given an explanation why I removed this section. Technically speaking, you want to insert this section in the article, then how did you insert this section without generating any consensus and stopping me. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 09:37, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus is not the sources and content must meet with your personal satisfaction. Your constant reverts are worrying as your latest are pretty clear factual events that occurred, so what is the rational as your edit summary does not cite any policy based reason? Slywriter (talk) 18:26, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

hi fellow editors!

[edit]

it's appears this newsworthy article is being hotly contested by a few disgruntled pov editors.

we know little about this topic outside a cursory search, however, removing 14000+ cited and sourced bytes doesn't make this any easier for people attempting a non biased encyclopedia.

this doesn't need removal, it needs cited and sourced expansion into other corruption articles from the region. thanks and happy editing, Saintstephen000 (talk) 05:23, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So your attempt to bring about the unbanning of Wikipedia in Pakistan is to censor controversy?
