Clarity
[edit]I read an article on the web about distortion and pumping in an audio file. I know a bit about what is meant by distortion, but I have no idea what "Pumping" is. This page is obviously written by someone who really knows their stuff, but that "stuff" is not at all effectively conveyed to the readers. I read it and still don't know what pumping is in terms of audio samples.
Please, if the original poster reads this, take a look at wikipedia's "distortion" page for what I believe is a good example of a page designed for a very similar purpose (though I understand that by not knowing what pumping is, maybe the same level of detail doesn't apply). - The article content hasn't changed significantly since this content. Comparing with Distortion (music) I believe what's missing here is a description of the sound. We describe how pumping is achieved but we don't discuss what it sounds like or what motivates doing this. ~Kvng (talk) 16:47, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
