Can I say

Cleanup
[edit]I am marking this article for cleanup. I don't really know where to begin on it, but for example, Nigeria's spot on this list at first stays loyal to the topic, then skews strangely and without rationale into Nigeria's debt cancellation programs.
And nations and events seem listed at complete random. There seems to of been no real work done to make this article flow well, I wonder if it wasn't written piece by piece? Regardless, it really needs a whole re-write. And, more than anything, some purpose. Scryer_360 (talk) 02:09, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'd agree on the need for a total rewrite, I've tried to at least mention some of the early quota agreements, this article should be more about that kind of stuff. I'm not sure the peak oil stuff really belongs here at all, not that it's unimportant but petroleum politics goes back way before peak oil was even dreamed up. And the tone is all wrong - for instance, the article currently implies that Iraqi oil played no part in geopolitics until 2003, when in fact it dominated much of British activity in the region throughout the 20th century, going all the way back to the Mesopotamian campaign of WWI. Neutrality
[edit]Seriously? This page has been on a neutrality watch since March of 2008? The section about Peak Oil is especially one-sided and needs to be rewritten. -76.30.146.194 (talk) 16:56, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. This article is in desperate need of a rewrite from someone who knows about the issues. -Kylelovesyou (talk) 17:04, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Errors from citation tools
[edit]@7&6=thirteen and Derek R Bullamore: In case you weren't already aware, with semi-automatic citation tools like WP:Reflinks: "The templates created automatically by the tool need to be reviewed to ensure that they are accurate, as they are often not." For example, in this article, you just posted titles & accessdates for several ref links that no longer exist, since the tools blindly followed re-directs to entirely different webpages that don't even resemble the cited information. In many cases, you can recover deadlinks and find the right webpages with quick searches on archive.org and/or google.com; but you should always make a habit of visually checking any ref links that you update, to guard against introducing so many errors. Thanks very much for understanding this important point. —Patrug (talk) 23:04, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
