Spelling of the name

I have edited this article back to the Spanish spelling of the name, Peñíscola, because that is what was original in the article and primarily because it is more common in English language references than the local Valencian spelling. Dual naming is common in Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, etc. See, Swiss city Biel/Bienne, or Basque capital, Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Oppose This is not Spain, nor the Spanish Wikipedia. Normal English usage is for the most common term, not two stuffed in there just for a laugh. Also we have guidelines - "Avoid /" Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Article_titles.5BR.5D

Oppose I wanted to close off this discussion, but I have a strong opinion that this rename is inappropriate. Spanish law does not apply to Wikipedia, the usage in English is the important criteria, which would result in a rename to Peniscola without diacritics. Compromising between languages so that both names are used will result in a name that is actually used by very few people. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- As I said before, I agree with Peniscola without diacritics. The reason i requested to change it Peníscola/Peñíscola was because this is the only official name (no Peñíscola on its own), and I wasn't aware there was a real English exonym for this place until now.
