Requested move 19 May 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: No consensus. There may be a case for merging, as per AjaxSmack, which can be discussed separately. But on the move request itself there is clearly no consensus. — Amakuru (talk) 21:58, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Patriarch of Grado → Patriarchate of Grado – Per WP:CONSISTENCY with equivalent entries in Category:Former Latin patriarchates. PPEMES (talk) 21:12, 19 May 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. Iffy★Chat -- 09:56, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
- This article is at the wrong title, but the proposal is not the ideal solution. The article started its life over a decade ago as a list of patriarchs and has remained so ever since. It mirrors articles in other languages such as the Norwegian one where much of the text of the English article was taken. Currently the list covers several patriarchates and there is considerable overlap with the list of bishops and patriarchs of Aquileia; this is made more confusing as the patriarchs of Aquileia resided in Grado at various times. List of patriarchs of Grado would be a better target per WP:LISTNAME, but a merge with the list of bishops and patriarchs of Aquileia might serve readers even better. The Italian article Patriarchi di Aquileia follows this approach and helpfully shows the period of schism between Aquileia and Grado with two columns. — AjaxSmack 23:33, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- Please note that this is the sole exception from WP:CONSISTENCY now in said equivalent category. Indeend even the only comparable one of all in Template:Patriarchates in Christianity. On top of this, consistency recently emphasised as seen in the previously penultimate exception: Talk:Patriarchate of the East Indies. This could use two, possible three relistings if clear consensus does not emerge before that. PPEMES (talk) 17:55, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Or just merge the article as I suggested above and then there'll be no issue of inconsistency. — AjaxSmack 04:01, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
