Paradise Circus
[edit]This article should be moved back to its former (and the site's current) name, "Paradise Circus". Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:39, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
- It is not the site's current name, see [1] -Sammich28 (talk) 15:14, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- There is no statement on that page - which uses both names - to support your assertion. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:18, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- "Redevelopment of the Paradise area of the city centre...". The only part of that page that refers to Circus is the section that describes the circus element being removed, which will be happening within months. Additionally, the area is now being referred to as Paradise more often than not - [2]. If the article is moved back to its old name, it will only have to be moved back to the new one again in the near future. -Sammich28 (talk) 20:36, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- Use in one promotional page does not constitute evidence of a formal rename; and I'm not the one relying on that page to support my position. The area is littered with signage saying "Paradise Circus", including signs recently installed to warn of the current and planned roadworks. - The area was never 'formally' named Paradise Circus. That name referred to the gyratory system that is being removed this year. Therefore, the name 'Paradise Circus' will be ceasing to exist. The area, collectively, is being referred to as Paradise from many parties from here on out. I can find plenty more references to back this up, here's some: [3], [4], [5], [6]. By your logic, pages such as Canary Wharf, Northern Quarter (Manchester) shouldn't exist under such names. I would also point out that hoardings refer to the Paradise development name, and there are indeed road signs referring to 'Paradise roadworks scheme'. Sammich28 (talk) 15:30, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
