Deletion of External link to WikiOverland.org

Hi, The external link to WikiOverland.org was deleted with the reason "Spam link not welcome - see WP:ELNO". Reading through the rules for external links, I believe the link to WikiOverland is extremely relevant. WikiOverland is a wiki setup specifically to provide information to people wishing to go Overlanding (the title of this page).
It's not a discussion forum like Expedition Portal or the HUBB (both also in the external links), but is equally relevant to the topic. I'd like to clarify why WikiOverland is not welcome as an external link to this page. Thanks very much, -Dangrec (talk) 06:16, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Your insertion of the link seems promotional in nature. Such links are discouraged by WP:NOTLINK. Ebikeguy (talk) 03:00, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I think when there is an entire wiki dedicated to the exact title of the Wikipedia article, then it's extremely relevant to the Wikipedia article. It's hard to think of something more relevant to the topic of this article. Thanks -Dangrec (talk) 19:50, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

If you are passionate about the topic of overlanding then why not put your efforts into improving the quality of the content here on Wikipedia instead of pointing to stuff elsewhere? We would very much welcome your help. Just a suggestion.... --Biker Biker (talk) 19:30, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Hey Biker Biker, I take it you have not looked around WikiOverland much. You'll see it's an entire wiki dedicated to the topic of overlanding. Specifically, for more than 16 countries right now it includes details right down to (but not limited to) What paperwork do I need to cross a border with a vehicle? 2. What is the process? 3. How much will it cost? 4. Do I need to buy insurance? 5. How much does that cost? How much is gas? What about camping? What about maps? What about roads? etc. etc. etc.).. I don't think Wikipedia aims to include this level of detail for people traveling with vehicles, does it?. Hopefully WikiOverland will grow to have a page for (essentially) every county in the world, and which point, I'm sure you'll agree it's not feasible to have those pages in Wikipedia. (undent) The ELs in general need to be looked at by the Wikipedia community. I deleted several that were of a self-proclaimed commercial nature or forums, and one dead link. The remaining three may be in the same category. A dmoz link would be appropriate here, but the dmoz Overlanding categories seem to be backpacking related. — Brianhe (talk) 21:47, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

I see that Dan Grec is at it again, trying to post links to this Wiki which seems to contain material that is 90% written by him. Please stop, Dan. Duplicate topics?
