- @TippedNotion: Anything could be true, but you'll need to provide sources to support such claims, or at least explain how the sources in the article are wrong. Nythar (💬-🍀) 14:32, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- The article was already edited and the general was on Israeli tv earlier today.

- Please undo your edit. It is spreading false information TippedNotion (talk) 15:31, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- @TippedNotion: My edit? Which edit? Nythar (💬-🍀) 15:49, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- My bad, got confused..wasnt your edit. But if you could please restore the article to what it was or add a line that this has been refuted that would be greatly appreciated.. TippedNotion (talk) 15:54, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- There is a claim here that the IDF has refuted claims of his capture. I'll have to wait until I can get a good source on the report, then I'll add that to the article. Nythar (💬-🍀) 16:04, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- That's clearly not a reputable news org then. The general was on Israeli tv. The IDF didn't even comment on it. https://twitter.com/michaelh992/status/1711050885315346493?t=biaW0zQ2cu5A4SbhsNPEeg&s=19
- Another source here TippedNotion (talk) 17:45, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't say the tweet I linked to is a reputable source; of course it isn't. I was saying that if the Farsi statement that was referenced is analyzed by a reputable source, we could add that to the article. While looking for sources, I found this report from News.am, claiming "
[t]he Israeli army has dismissed this information as false.
" It's not good enough, though, and I'm still waiting. Tweets aren't considered reliable sources by the way, so those can't be used. Nythar (💬-🍀) 18:13, 8 October 2023 (UTC)- No IDF or government official statement about nimrod aloni exist. Some poor news websites recycle twitter and social media posts. But the IDF and israeli government made no comment about him. Neither denied nor confirmed. Stephan rostie (talk) 18:18, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

- No official statement from IDF about his capture exist until now. IDF and israeli government neither confirmed nor denied his capture, so it remains as it is. Your sources are not reliable sources by the way. Stephan rostie (talk) 18:11, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Nythar, @TippedNotion: Per this AP fact check, I've definitively stated the claim as false. Feel free to change the wording, if needed. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 13:26, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
Although, if he is not being held in Gaza, where is he then? Why don't the Israelis produce him, or at least his body? PatGallacher (talk) 23:15, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
The general can be seen in the video (https://twitter.com/idfonline/status/1711000825760297431/video/1) released by the IDF spokesperson at 11 seconds on October 8. I think he clearly wasn't kidnapped. - 2804:14D:78D3:556B:5E:1076:780D:3901 (talk) 19:42, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Fake News Alert: major-general Nimrod Aloni was not kidnapped by Hamas. A picture of him from 2 days ago was published by Israeli Journalist Yossi Yehoshua Hebrew: יוסי יהושוע: [2]. There is no real evidence that Aloni was kidnapped. Therefore I ask you to change the article so it will be clear that Aloni's kidnapping didn't happen and it is a fake published by Hamas. (Here is another picture of Aloni from oct. 8: [3], he is in the left corner of the picture). Yonathan33 (talk) 06:48, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Done Thanks for catching that! ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 13:23, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
