Butterley or Butterly?
[edit]There are about 11,000 ghits for Butterley, but over 500,000 for Butterly. And there are 664 ghits that have a bob each way.
I've always seen it with the -ly spelling. -- JackofOz (talk) 06:22, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, this appears to be the work of the composer himself, and it's spelled -ley. Odd. I wonder why there are far more misspelled references than correctly spelled ones. -- JackofOz (talk) 06:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I've been acquainted with the music of various Australian composers over several decades, and have seen Butterley's name from time to time in different contexts, and it's always spelled "Butterley" - in fact, I've never seen it spelled the other way. If those half-million instances in Google spelled "Butterly" are referring to Nigel Butterley, they are simply wrong. M.J.E. (talk) 19:53, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
