At the time of this writing, this article lists Mervin Ray Hughes as having been born in 1963/1964 (according to the beginning of this article) or in 1963 or 1964 (according to the infobox). However, at the time of this writing, the "Murders"-section says "On September 16, 1986, Hughes, then 17, shot 38-year-old Jesse Clarence Dunlap in Oakland during a drug-related dispute". How could Hughes have been born in 1963 or 1964 if he was 17 years old on September 16, 1986? Heart of Destruction (talk) 08:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a bit busy to fix this myself, but I looked over this when you posted this comment and I noticed that many sources give varying and self-contradictory accounts; all the sources that mention his first murder say it happened when he was seventeen, but some of those same articles also give a different current age.
