Not a brainchild of Sagat Singh

[edit]

It has been asserted in the Intro that Operation Cactus Lily is generally regarded as the brainchild of Maj. Gen. (later Lt. Gen.) Sagat Singh. However, this is not true. OCL was approved by the DMO in Delhi as early as August of 1971. Faizul Latif Chowdhury (talk) 19:03, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Helibridge over Meghna redirects to this page. Merging these two pages doesn't make sense since they are the same page!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.159.185.5 (talkcontribs) 10:07, August 14, 2006 (UTC)

They are the same page. You moved the page by cutting and pasting text. Registered users can rename pages while preserving edit history. You can see this edit history by clicking the history tab. An administrator is going to go and take the history of the page and merge it around. They technically delete the page while doing this, if only for a moment, which is probably why a deletion tag is used. No harm will come to the page, we just need make it easy to find out who edited the page a year ago. After its complete, the history of Helibridge over Meghna (you can see it here: [1]) will go from being a lengthy edit history to a single edit of a page move. The history of this article will then become even longer. Hope this explains it. Kevin_b_er 18:24, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.
