Not Secretary but PM

[edit]

The first of the primary elections in which Matteo Renzi has participated wasn't concerned to choose the Secretary of the Democratic Party but the candidate for the premiership. Then, after Bersani's resignations and some new primary elections he became secretary , I hope i've been useful — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.50.131.117 (talk) 18:20, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Renzi's image

[edit]

User:FraLiss proposed to change the image of Renzi used in the article. These are the two images, which do you prefer?

Nick.mon (talk), 14:20 16 February 2014 (UTC)

I'd rather the right one. It seems to me that FraLiss made a good job of retouching. — TintoMeches, 14:38, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok my suggestion is to crop it. I think it would be better. -- Nick.mon (talk), 14:39 16 February 2014 (UTC)
And according to me, the one used in the article, is better. I think it is clear and well defined. Maybe it is darker than the proposed one, but if we see them in the article, we can see (according to me) that the first one is more appropriate and less blurred than the other. This is my personal opinion. -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:01 16 February 2014 (UTC)
The contrast was elevated in the right picture, also sharpness strengthened. Therefore other qualities were reduced automatically when working with Photoshop. I could try to make the cropped one (left one) more brighter, but there is no possibility to upload and remake the picture once more.FraLiss (talk) 15:12, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you are right, in the second picture the contrast is very good. And I agree with you, that some qualities have been reduced by Photoshop. What I would like to say is that I personally dislike the position of Renzi in the second photo. I think that a cropped version without his arm, should be better. I would like to have an image cropped as the first one, and maybe with the contrast of the second. What do you think about it? -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:18 16 February 2014 (UTC)
I have re-edited the original sized picture. Now it should be ok. Look at it!FraLiss (talk) 15:32, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, but I was not against your cropped version. I propose to use a version which is cropped almost as the first one, but with the improvement of the second one. As I said, in my view, the position of Renzi in the original photo is not so good, and this is not our fault, of course. -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:34 16 February 2014 (UTC)
I like the new one. @Nick.mon: I don't appreciate pictures where the only thing you see is the huge face of the subject. — TintoMeches, 15:43, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The new one is a fine image. Yes of course @TintoMeches:, but I am not saying to crop all his body, just the arm, which according to me give him, in this photo a strange position. Anyway, this is my personally opinion. -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:46 16 February 2014 (UTC)

The fourth one is similar to the one I have in mind. With the improvement made by FraLiss but differently cropped. -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:52 16 February 2014 (UTC)

too much colours in the another version.FraLiss (talk) 15:56, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you are absolutely right, but I used the last version that you have uploaded I don't know why it is become so different. I would like to have an image with the colors of your one, but differently cropped. -- Nick.mon (talk), 15:59 16 February 2014 (UTC)

I think your're both right and that's the best solution: taking the last version made by FraLiss and just cropping the arm. — TintoMeches, 16:02, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I made the png-image again, the cropped one, brighter, less colours.FraLiss (talk) 16:08, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good job FraLiss! — TintoMeches, 16:14, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Thats it. Can we change it now?FraLiss (talk) 16:20, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your last image is absolutely perfect! Great job! -- Nick.mon (talk), 17:24, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
so consensus is for choosing from these images ONLY?, no one can add a better one?, good to know, now i don't have to find a better one.. thanks..--Stemoc (talk) 07:08, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, consensus means that you add your image on the talk page, and look for consensus there. :-) Personally I find your image better than the others. Alex2006 (talk) 07:54, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was being funny, technically, people discuss images when there is non available and thus they have to crop/modify the only good one available..in a few weeks, there will be a lot of choices as most images will be released "freely" and thus can be used on the article so thats whyi was making a joke...never ever have a consensus on one image, there is a very good chance it can be replaced by a better image...look at the image for the 'new' Ukranian President, Oleksandr Turchynov‎..its a poor quality image, but its actually the ONLY free one available..even though the man himself runs his own flickr and has 1000's of images of himself but none can be used because they are not free..lol..--Stemoc (talk) 08:46, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but there has already been a discussion on this image here, and a decision has been reached. So, if I were you I would put your image on the talk page for a while asking for comments: if these are positive (or not coming at all) I will replace the old image with yours. President of the Council of Ministers

[edit]

In the Italian Republic, the head of the government is the "President of the Council of Ministers", not the "Prime Minister". This isn't a insignificant thing, because the denomination of "Prime Minister" is used generally for a presidential republic, while Italy is a parliamentary republic. 151.25.210.204 (talk) 15:06, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your statement is technically correct. Still, the term "Prime Minister" is widely recognized as meaning Chief of the government regardless of the fact that his power is weak (as in Italy, wherein he cannot dismiss other ministers) or effective (as in Uk). So, even if improper, and bearing in mind the above, the term Prime Minister may be applied also to the Italian Chief of the government. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.92.153.10 (talk) 13:05, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

shish

[edit]

That's a famous thing said quite often by Renzi. We should add it as a quote --193.206.140.230 (talk) 10:13, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it should be added. It's the catchphrase of Renzi --138.41.2.3 (talk) 11:13, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Another famous catchphrase by the Premier, in fact summing up his political style, is "we listen to anyone, but then you do what the Government says" ("Ascoltiamo tutti, ma poi si fa quel che dice il governo") 95.245.14.149 (talk) 20:51, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Total lack of important information about policies, the page is idol worship

[edit]

What is this, the "Matteo Renzi worship" page? It's total rubbish, there's multiple pages worth about Matteo Renzi visiting countries, why? And next to nothing on actual policies affecting actual area of government, why? The page is written like a leadership campaign it's dreadful and everyones farting about talking about which photo of their idol to use, FML. I came here hoping to learn something about policies, I am leaving having learnt nothing much. --193.180.119.168 (talk) 08:37, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

1) Is it a worship? Why don't you try to improve the page, instead of criticize everything. Morevoer, I insert some months ago a paragraph named "Criticism" but it was deleted, because lot of them were also inserted in other parts of the article (see the accuse of authoritarianism);
2) As other Prime Ministers and G7 leaders, we have created a page of official trips made by him as PM;
3) There are paragraphs about Labour, Constitutional and Economic reforms, if, according to you are useless, please enlighten us, insert other usefull informations;
Thank you. -- Nick.mon (talk) 19:01, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Series

[edit]

The infobox to the entry reads "This article is part of a series about Matteo Renzi". Many entries in this "series" about Italy's PM are in fact paragraphs belonging to this same page on the politician. Some of the entries linked there are in fact real pages, but they detail the outcome of various elections and they are not specifically devoted to Mr. Renzi. I think this should be fixed, lest the entry may be really mistaken for a worship page. 95.245.14.149 (talk) 21:15, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
