Finding a quote

[edit]

Somewhere, I read a quote from I think Roger Protz about if all the claims breweries make about using 100% Maris Otter were true, it would exceed the total production of the grain by several multiples...any ideas about the source? --Stlemur 21:57, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suspiciously positive article

[edit]

While this article is eloquently written and informative, it seems too "loaded" with a positive choice of words for an encyclopedic entry. Is it written by someone from the company that owns the cultivar or someone with a vested interest? Vesteinn (talk) 17:30, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The original blurb was written by "Robin Appel Ltd", who on their webpage state "Malting barley is our passion. We own Maris Otter". Were it to be anonymous, it would have been clear astroturfing, instead it's merely vanity. Fatphil (talk) 04:57, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article has been taken from an industry glossy brochure. Probably cut+paste by a home brewer with too many real ales inside him. The dip in popularity of MO, because of external dilution, is not something I've heard of before, for any cereal strain. MO has always been a mainstay for smaller brewers. Larger brewers must use some of it, as the micro market would not keep farmers in business.203.213.60.7 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:55, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

NO

No. This content is quoted from a book by Ian Hornsey, called "Brewing". Page 33.
