LGBTQIA(+)

[edit]

Should someone add a plus after all instances of LGBTQIA or LGBTQ? The LGBTQIA+ people I know generally use a plus and an IA.

Notability?

[edit]

A recent pl wiki discussion (pl:Wikipedia:Poczekalnia/artykuły/2022:08:08:Margot (aktywistka)) makes a point worth discussing, i.e. that this person doesn't meet Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#People_notable_only_for_one_event. Merge with Stop Bullshit NGO that person is involved in has been suggested. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:31, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Piotrus - The article about that particular activist should re-direct to Stop Bullshit article. By the way, Stop Bullshit is a wrong translation, it should be Stop Nonsense GizzyCatBella🍁 09:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GizzyCatBella You are right, language-wise, but it seems that Bullshit is their chosen translation, see here. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:17, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that’s okay then.. - GizzyCatBella🍁 10:40, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BLP1E is a fairly strict set of requirements, since the article has to meet all three:
  • reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a single event
  • that person otherwise remains, and is likely to remain, a low-profile individual
  • the event is not significant or the individual's role was either not substantial or not well documented
  • She was covered in some protests in 2018 and 2019 in addition to the primary coverage about her in 2020, so I'd say that she was covered in the context of multiple events, though it's definitely debatable.
Previously, the second clause has been given as a reason to keep the article, since Margot seemed to be high-profile and likely to stay that way. However, since that time (almost two years ago), she hasn't had any coverage, so I think she can be considered low-profile and likely to stay that way.
And finally, judging by the coverage in the article, she played a well-documented and substantial role in a notable event.
To me, it seems like BLP1E says to keep the article, since only the second requirement is met and all three need to be. Gbear605 (talk) 00:33, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gbear605 She was covered in some protests in 2018 and 2019 - Where? Can you supply references? Thanks. - GizzyCatBella🍁 02:35, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to the first line of the Activities section, “in July 2018 Margot was involved in spray-painting the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish parliament) and in November 2019 protested against giving an award to Roman Polański” which cites [1]. Since I don’t speak Polish, I’m trusting that the article is correct. Gbear605 (talk) 02:57, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gbear605 The source you linked is also from 2020. She was known for one event only, for about a week or two (press wrote about her) that’s it. Stop Bzdurom might be notable actually, but I didn’t look into it closely yet. - GizzyCatBella🍁 04:39, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If the article is incorrect, then would you mind fixing it? I’m not quite sure what information is backed by the sources or not. Gbear605 (talk) 04:45, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
in July 2018 Margot was involved in spray-painting the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish parliament) and in November 2019 protested against giving an award to Roman Polański - that particular and not ency info was originally suggested by user who is currently blocked and later had ambivaled thoughts about keeping the article or mergring [2], anyway it was also somewhen discussed that wprost.pl is rather not reliale source, and given fact reference to 2019 appeared in sources from 2020 (and reference 2019 appeared only in Polish sources from 2020) it is hard to find anything pre-August 2020 find as notable. Personally I would change title of the article for something related with "arrest" just as Robert Seacat is redirect to Arrest of Robert Seacat, eventually redirect to Stop Bzdurom or August 2020 LGBT protests in Poland, three articleś is bit much especially that Stop Bzdurom have existed just 2,5 years as not registrated anarchist collective. Dawid2009 (talk) 08:47, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GizzyCatBella, Gbear605, and Piotrus: If there is no opposition in next seven days. Then I will remove that one information from Wprost. Dawid2009 (talk) 09:39, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GizzyCatBella, Gbear605, Piotrus, and Czar: Since there was no any opposition after that patient one week I have removed that one information (Do you have any comment about it now?) Ayway I was wondering about adding another sourced information to that article for that. For example info that Margot said at Interview in Radio Zet (pl:Gość Radia Zet) that she want to have marriage with her parthner in future maybe would be more suitable than writting about "using spray" at encyclopedia. Cheers. Dawid2009 (talk) 10:06, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Note: The consensus is to delete in her native country. - GizzyCatBella🍁 16:30, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Article has been tagged. - GizzyCatBella🍁 22:38, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GizzyCatBella, per the template's documentation, please do not put this template on articles (such as this) that have already survived a deletion discussion. If you want to renominate it for deletion, that is your prerogative, but it is quite clear from the above that a formal merge discussion would be more appropriate than an outright deletion discussion. czar 17:42, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    @Czar Okay, thanks. - GizzyCatBella🍁 18:37, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Consensus to merge

    [edit]

There was consensus to mrrge at afd so what now? I am waiting for pagewatchers. In few next days I am going to ping users who supported the merge. If there is no reaction for next seven days, I will try to do it myself by WP:Bold. Best regards. Dawid2009 (talk) Dawid2009 (talk) 04:59, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Black Kite, GizzyCatBella, Michalis Vazaios, Chiswick Chap, Piotrus, and Grnrchst: Is something/any content which you would like move into Stop Bullshit or everythning is suffiiently covered to make redirect now? Regards Dawid2009 (talk) 07:38, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Dawid! I think there's definitely more that needs to be moved over, but I haven't had time yet to do so. Gbear605 (talk) 19:11, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gbear605: Hi Gbear; ok, let me knoe when you will find time for that, relatively quikly. Evntually we can also start that at sandbox space, some conten there is also covered (things abut arrest) in August 2020 LGBT protests in Poland. Cheers! Dawid2009 (talk) 05:47, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dawid2009 I've now copied over information and I personally feel comfortably with changing the page to a redirect. Thanks for waiting for me! Gbear605 (talk) 03:00, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    OK, thanks for you help! Dawid2009 (talk) 12:14, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
