Poorly written article
[edit]This article is poorly written about a school which has a rich history and justifiably proud record of achievement by both staff and school. Anyone care to have ago at using WP:WPSCHOOLS/AG to improve it.Rimmer1993 (talk) 16:08, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've made a start, but will keep improving it for a while. This was my school, so I want to see it have a great page! Chronotopian (talk) 11:02, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
Name confusion
[edit]The school web site and the Infobox indicate it is an academy now while the lead indicates it is a school and there is no detail of change from school to an academy. The page can be moved, if required, but the text needs to address the situation. Keith D (talk) 22:22, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- Good point. Can you do the move, and we set up a redirect from 'school'. Their website uses both terms on the front page, and most visitors to the site would probably search for 'school' (as it has been known for most its history)... however, I'll build in some more text detailing the transitions from Secondary Modern to Comprehensive, then to Academy status, as part of the history. --Chronotopian (talk) 08:14, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- I have moved it and expanded C of E as per the school web site. A redirect was left behind as a result of the move so any searches on the old name should be forwarded to the new location of the page. Keith D (talk) 11:13, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks. Slightly different point, I've added an image and given my fair use rationale: its copyright status isn't mentioned in the local history book I found it in. As I'm new on Wikipedia, I hope including it is within the guidelines - from what I can see on help pages, it's acceptable use, and I certainly think in this case there wouldn't be an issue. Am I on the right track with this? --Chronotopian (talk) 11:46, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- It looks OK to me, but those who patrol round images may find some problem, they seem to make you jump through hoops to get images on some pages. Keith D (talk) 12:07, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- We'll see then. Images add so much, I wanted to get some in there. Cheers, Chronotopian (talk) 13:10, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
