Plot
[edit]This article's plot section is in desperate need of a review. It has poor formatting, spelling errors and general poor quality of work in trying to explain the movie's plot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.238.124.151 (talk) 20:42, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- I agree completely. I'll get around to it eventually; hopefully soon. Oh, and remember to sign your talk page posts by typing four tildes (~~~~). Cheers. -sesuPRIME talk • contribs 01:24, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Still needs to be revised. A plot description of a movie should not contain the ending in detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.8.80.107 (talk) 01:46, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

The Ratings
[edit]I was originally going to comment on some information (which I couldn't even find on Movie Tome) in the first paragraph, but thankfully an anonymous user with the IP adress 65.103.2.224 deleted it, and hopefully it'll stay deleted.
The same Movie Tome page mentioned above does not mention any rating except for a single "Y7 FV(PG)", so the ratings that User:Ryanasaurus0077 posted had to come from somewhere else. And since Movie Tome relies on user contributions, I even have doubts about the accuracy of that Y7/PG rating.
In fact, isn't a Japanese PG-12 rating (or for that matter, Canadian 14A or British 12A rating) an equivalent to an American PG-13 rating? That would suggest that this movie has about the same level of violence as, for example, the most recent Star Wars or Harry Potter movie, which it clearly doesn't. It IS targeted mainly to young children, after all...
Another question: why would the Japanese version need ratings in America, the UK, Canada, Australia, etc., when it's only available in Japan? Same goes for the dub getting a rating in Japan, as dub versions were only available there as extras for the first three movie DVDs.
In short, due to a lack on concrete evidence of these ratings, and the fact that this movie is entirely too tame for the equivalent of a PG-13 rating, I have removed them from the article. Wonk619 05:53, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- Did you know that the InuYasha movies have a PG rating in the USA, a 12(A) rating in the UK, a 14A rating in Canada, and a PG-12 rating in Japan? This might be the fate of Pokemon: Mew and the Wave-Guiding Hero for some intense sci-fi action. --Ryanasaurus0077 16:45, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- Unless I'm searching incorrectly, the MPAA's online ratings database, filmratings.com, doesn't list any InuYasha films. tregoweth 23:50, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- The phrase "Parental Guidance Suggested" gives the PG rating away. --Ryanasaurus007 01:54, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- Unless the MPAA rated it PG, it's not rated PG. A notice of "Parental Guidance Suggested" is equivalent, but not the same thing. tregoweth 05:31, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- Did you know that "Parental Guidance Suggested" actually gives away a PG rating? --Ryanasaurus007 11:55, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- Did you know that you have basically said the exact same thing twice? I'd also like to reiterate that, unless I overlooked something, Movie Tome has none of the information that you keep posting in this article; ditto with the InuYasha movies you mentioned above. Finally, why on Earth would a movie released in 2005/06 be rated by standards from the 1960s? Wonk619 16:21, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- You're brave with a man who supports the '60s MPAA, now, ain't you? Now don't you dare start an edit war. --Ryanasaurus0077 22:09, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- What is this attitude? Who do you think you are? You are the one trying to start an edit war here. Stop your childishness and actions at once, or else I will refer you for disciplinary action. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING. A.K.R. 06:04, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
- *enters as "Fistful of Dollars main theme" plays* I meant when I said "You're brave with a man who supports the '60s MPAA, now, ain't you?" that the '60s is just as cool as the new millenium, and that the '60s MPAA, '70s MPAA, and all the other MPAA generations are not to be dissed or the next one who disses them will get a harsh rating from them. I wasn't trying to be childish! --Ryanasaurus0077 17:03, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Whatever you think about this. It doesn't matter. Wikipedia is not something that you can continuously edit on your opinion of something. It's these things that make me wish there was an SfD (Sections for Deletion), but since we're at the talk page, and we've people disagreeing on allowing you to remake this stupid section, I suggest you leave it alone unless you wish to be forwarded to the administrators to have them deal with you. --Anthony Jake La (Tetsuya-san; talk : contribs) 21:05, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

The Ratings, revisited
[edit]I do not believe I need to comment, but we've got numerous anonymous IPs coming in and making all the relevant edits to above? --Anthony Jake La (Tetsuya-san; talk : contribs) 05:38, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- True, I personally suspect that those IPs are actually Ryanasaurus' sock puppets. Wonk619 16:02, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- None of which I go under as of now. --Ryanasaurus0077 18:28, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Sequel category
[edit]To the editor(s) continuously adding the "sequel" category, please cease such action. It is requested that you stop this as Pokémon movies are considerably NOT sequels. --Anthony Jake La (Tetsuya-san; talk : contribs) 13:57, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
English Title
[edit]Source? I'm just wondering... Cabby2 01:09, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- never mind. I see its english name on other pages now. Cabby2 14:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I say that according to Pokemon Elite 2000, the offical English title was revealed to be Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.
Number of movies
[edit]Technically, this would be the ninth Pokemon movie instead of the eighth as reported, as there are already 8 current movies under the name of Pokemon, being The First Movie, Pokemon 2000, Pokemon 3, Mewtwo Returns, Pokemon 4ever, Pokemon Heroes, Jirachi Wish Maker and Destiny Deoxys.
- Mewtwo Returns is, among others, considered a Pokémon special, made for television. See for more info Pokémon movies and Pokémon specials/OAVS. -- Face 11:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
P.S.: Please sign your comments using ~~~~.
Well, Mewtwo Returns is only, so far i know, on video and all the other movies are numbered the same as the season it was made for, like "Pokemon Lucario and the mystery of mew" was made during the 8th season, and that was the 8th movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.135.23 (talk) 01:43, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Lucario's Legendary Status and Voice Actor list.
[edit]Firstly, I want to mention that it has not been confirmed that Lucario is a Legendary Pokemon. Secondly, I'd like to ask is the voice actor table correct? Shouldn't Nintendo's pet studio be dubbing this instead of 4Kids?
Toys-R-Us event
[edit]I was excited to see about the Mew download event at Toys-R-Us on September 30, 2006 and immediately went to the company's site to ask where in my area that I could take my son to have Mew downloaded. Here is their response:
Thank you for contacting the "R" Us Family. I apologize, but we do not have information on the announcement you are asking about. Please contact the webpage in question for details. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please call 1-800-toysrus or email again.
Sincerely, Toys "R" Us Guest Relations Team
And this is with sending them a link to the original article. If someone could please let me know if/when there will be a Mew download 'event', I would appreciate it. If there is no event, please remove the misleading information from the article.
Thank youAlpha48185 15:29, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Toys-R-Us event - an apology
[edit]Greetings Trainers,
I apologize. Today I received an email from Nintendo which also mentioned the Mew download. I will now need to access the Nintendo site for further details.
Sorry for offending anyone. Alpha48185 15:40, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Trivia mistake
[edit]In the trivia section, it says the following:
"This is the only movie so far to have scenes from the anime (Pikachu saving Ash from the flock of Spearow in episode one)."
I believe that this is incorrect, and that there's a similar flashback in the introduction to the fifth Pokemon movie, Pokemon Heroes. I'm deleting that comment from the trivia section, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

- No, you're right about that. In the first movie, they showed a scene from The Battle of the Badge with Gary battling Giovanni with his Nidoking and Arcanine. --PAK Man + 04:58, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I think in that case it's just the same scene but with new, different footage.—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 05:01, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, that scene was just to show how powerful Mewtwo was, and thay so happened to have a scene from that episode, and thay also wanted to show what pokemon that was in The Battle of the Bage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.135.23 (talk) 01:50, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Trivia
[edit]I edited May's quote, as she said "Hey, Pikachu!", not "Hey you, Pikachu!". I believe now that is correct it doesn't belong in the article because it isn't very noteworthy. But I'm not sure, so feel free to delete it if you think it shouldn't be here. Deoxys911 20:06, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've already removed it...the entire trivia section should be removed anyway, as it's a good idea to avoid trivia sections. -Sukecchi 20:33, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
When did she say that? I don't remember that in the movie, if it was in the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.135.23 (talk) 01:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Edit
[edit]Someone recently edited this page, taking out the part about Lucario's death being subject to debate, and added a ton of grammar and spelling errors. I reverted as much back as I could with my limited wikipedia knowledge, but it still needs fixing; if you think it's bad now, you should have seen how sloppy the last person made it... There is debate on if Lucario and Aaron are dead, or simply were teleported. Their bodies were not shown (as Aaron's was originally), but instead disappeared in blue spheres similar to Mew's teleport attack in the first movie. It's very odd that Lucario did not simply freeze as Aaron did when he first used his aura to save the tree, and odder still that Aaron and Lucario are seen eating chocolate on Earth, in the exact same spot they met. It couldn't have been a flashback, as Lucario had not eaten chocolate until Max gave it to him in the movie.
If this is too long of a rant for you, just, please, realize that you shouldn't edit something into Wikipedia unless you know it's 100% fact. If you insist on doing so, at least try to make your wording a lot less awkward. Wikipedia is not AIM. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.248.165.242 (talk) 18:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
VANDALISM
[edit]FUNimation didn't dub this it was the last film 4Kids Entertainment did I'm changing it back !!!!!!! Matthew Cantrell (talk) 20:59, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that is quite true, 4Kids did this film, not FUNdimation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talk • contribs) 02:40, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Comment moved from article
[edit][NOTICE to Wikipedia Editors/Moderators] - Someone edit this plot section please. This is a full summary of what actually happens in the movie and tells the ending in detail. This is not the plot of the movie. I will not edit this, as I am fairly certain someone will re-post it. If you want to write what the plot to a movie is, learn what a plot is beforehand. Thank you.
