Missing guns

[edit]

There are still a fair number of missing pre-1900 firearms of importance from this list as of October 18th, 2023. I got a few - but not necessarily all of them - here that don't have a wikipedia page yet to authorize their inclusion to the list.

If anybody has the know-how to help, then it would be appreciated if you could. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 10:56, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Expand

[edit]

This list could be expanded upon quite a bit. A problem that I have with its current form; it's difficult to tell what the dates are supposed to mean. Maybe each entry should note the years that the particular firearm was manufactured.. like what I just did for the Henry Repeater.

Approximations should be used where necessary and applicable, but it shouldn't be hard to find out the final years for many guns. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.101.33.94 (talk) 00:14, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commonwealth naming conventions and adoptions are kind of odd so I used the common name as well as the military designation for the Lee rifles. I also grabbed the year of design instead of the year of adoption. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miso beno (talkcontribs) 00:21, 17 January 2020 (UTC) ----[reply]

This is more of an issue with the abus gun article, but there's no loose adoption date for this gun. One of the references cited in the main has it in use during the 18th century but I've run out of time to follow up. ----
