Welcome

[edit]

Hello, I've created this page. This is the first time I've created a page in Wikipedia after carefully reading Help:Your first article. Someone peer review it and help me to develop it more. Thank you Okiloma (talk) 18:25, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any reason you have added the documentaries that do not have a separate article on Wikipedia? JeraxmoirašŸ‰ (talk) 18:35, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello hi. I first like to appreciate your visit and comment on this newly created page. To answer your question, yes. These documentaries provide different perspectives on the Tamil Genocide in broader picture. They also bring light on the war torn community and the current situation in the northern and the eastern regions of the Sri Lanka. Thank you. Okiloma (talk) 18:47, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are the documentaries and films notable and do they have separate articles? If not, I believe the bare minimum is to have a reliable source cited inline, preferably a reputable news media's full-length review of the documentary/film. Wikipedia is not a database to list all the films ever made on the Tamil genocide. Please do not cite the YouTube link as a source as YouTube is not reliable. Kindly remove the other non-notable films/documentaries if you cannot find a reliable source. JeraxmoirašŸ‰ (talk) 20:00, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your comments. Every film I've listed out is notable ones as it's really rare to gain media access inside the island. I've removed youtube links as you instructed me to do for except for the following:

They are just not notable if media access is rare. Wikipedia:External links/YouTube is a failed proposal. And you haven't included the YouTube videos in external links but rather as inline citations. Once again, we require reliable sources discussing the documentary not just the documentary's source link. JeraxmoirašŸ‰ (talk) 05:19, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

To not merge, given that there is sufficient sourced content for a separate list. Klbrain (talk) 11:28, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge : Much of the same content present in this article has been repeated in Tamil Genocide, hence fulfilling WP:REDUNDANT. Cossde (talk) 06:46, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose:This merge proposal is unwanted and it has several high quality sources. This is an important topic. Much of the added details are deleted. Also, the proposal of merging doesn't looks like a genuine intention. I'm not well aware about the rules of merging. Can someone talk here, please User talk:ChanakyanFOG, User talk:Oz346, User talk:Pharaoh of the Wizards, User talk:Petextrodon or anyone. Okiloma (talk) 00:14, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
