Anyone found a cite-able source for the point in the Contiguous U.S. farthest from another country? Playing around with Google Earth, Osage City, KS is around 680 miles from both Canada and Mexico, but a spot (32°40′49″N88°29′09″W / 32.680384°N 88.485864°W / 32.680384; -88.485864) near the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Fire Tower Road, Porterville, MS (Kemper County) is 697.93 miles (1,123.3 km) from Middle Island, Ontario, Canada; Mouth of the Rio Grand River, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and Sandy Cay off of Grand Bahama, Bahamas. — Eoghanachttalk22:10, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Other points: Southwesternmost and southeasternmost points
The southwesternmost point in the contiguous US is currently listed as Border Field State Park. While this is the western end of the southern border of the US, it would appear to me that the true southwesternmost point is located somewhere in Vandenberg Air Force Base, or, if we're counting islands in the contiguous 48 states, then on one of the Channel Islands (San Miguel Island or San Nicolas Island).
