Chatbots are a dime a dozen these days. I think it will become necessary to factor out the historical chatbots (those that predate ChatGPT 3 or 3.5) and everything subsequent (the flood) if this list is to retain non-historical relevance. — MaxEnt04:55, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
I propose a merge of Comparison of user features of chatbots into List of chatbots. Both articles have similar scopes, and the former is essentially just a list of lead sections of articles. This is not necessarily bad (it is probably more informative than what this article currently provides), but it does not serve the function of being a comparison particularly well. The article is trying to fit into a series of “Comparison of user features of” articles, which currently contains three articles, but I have explained why I think that series is not very useful on the talk page of “Comparison of user features of chatbots”. Essentially, the style used is not informative enough compared to the “table” comparison style, and each of the other two articles could reasonably be merged into another as well. List of chatbots also seems to list chatbots (obviously), but it is older and includes more chatbots, hence my proposal. I would also suggest that, upon the completion of the merge, this article be renamed “Comparison of chatbots”, and adopt a table format to compare them. An adapted version of the table at Large language model#List could be used as a starting point for this. I would be interested in hearing what others think about this. Thanks! –Gluonztalkcontribs00:23, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Update: The table format does seem more informative, so I have begun to implement it. Additionally, after reviewing WP:NCSAL, I have decided to relinquish my proposal to rename this article to “Comparison of chatbots”. I still support the merge, and it remains up for discussion. –Gluonztalkcontribs18:30, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
