I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of honours and records received by Cristiano Ronaldo's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

PFA Team of the Year

[edit]

Ronaldo has been included in the PFA Team of the Year for the Premier League four times. Quite remarkably, these are not included in this list, and are no longer included in the main article after this edit. Is there any particular reason for their exclusion or have they just been overlooked? Either is worrying, considering this list was at FLC just two months ago. Ronaldo assists and polls

[edit]

I would like to discuss with you about adding Ronaldo assist tally and the public polls he has won. Let me know your opinion Alessandraronaldo (talk) 11:33, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose you mean me. You'll hear from me later today. Hurrygane (talk) 11:48, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, first of all, combining assists from all competitions is an act of folly, in my opinion. This is because the definition of an assist is way too flexible. UEFA counts rebounds as assists, whereas Serie A requires that pass can only count as an assist if it was meant to result in a goalscoring opportunity. WhoScored.com and SofaScore, for example, state that Ronaldo gave an assist against Sampdoria this season. Serie A's own statistics differ. And so on. Moreover, you've only cited odd blogs to provide support for your assist tally so far.

Public (online) polls, per se, don't meet the definition of career achievements nor honours. This is fairly self-explanatory. These kind of polls are held everywhere all the time, and they are usually prone to all sorts of tampering. Their results have no place here. Try creating a page about Historical rankings of association football players (or something like that) if you must. Take a look at high-profile precedents. Even though Barack Obama was deemed the most memorable U.S. President of all time in 2014, this "victory" is not mentioned in the list of accolades and honours conferred upon him. Here, let me give you another example. Even though Jennifer Lawrence topped the long-established Top Ten Money Making Stars Poll in 2013, the poll is not so much as even alluded to in her featured list of awards and nominations. Do you see what I'm getting at? I wrote this in a hurry but I welcome your thoughts and comments! Hurrygane (talk) 17:30, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The table listing Ronaldo's trophies is missing 2 trophies.

1 is the 2008 FA Community Shield (which Manchester United did win and Ronaldo was part of. I checked the FA community Shield link provided in the table itself and it also confirms they indeed won in 2008 too. I'm sure it won't be difficult for you to confirm this as well.

2nd one is the 2016 UEFA Super Cup. Real Madrid have won that cup 4 times, once early 2000's and 3 times with Ronaldo, which were in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Ronaldo's 2014 and 2017 win of the UEFA Super Cup are listed but 2016 one is not. Again, I did check UEFA Super Cup Wikipedia page link, listed in the table itself and it confirms this.

I am pointing this out because every trophy is listed seperately by the order he won them in. It doesn't list the trophies he's won and the number of times he's won them. Rather it lists them by name and order of year won regardless of how many times he's won them. (meaning multiple trophies are repeated multiple times). This clearly shows those 2 weren't left out because it was already listed from wins in other years..The way it is now, the total number of trophies he's won can be counted by counting the listed trophies. As it is now, the total comes to be 32. However, as I've pointed out, there are 2 trophies missing which have to be counted just as much as any currently on there. (Since the missing 2, FA community Shield and UEFA super Cup, are already on the list for every other time/season he has won them, leaving them out would be misleading people to believe he has won 32 trophies while actually its 34. And most importantly, as Wikipedia is a source of information for many, many people globally, I feel the information should be as accurate as possible Please check this and add those 2 trophies to the table as soon as possible too . Thank you. 209.212.216.148 (talk) 05:32, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trophies of Cristiano Ronaldo

[edit]

Cristiano Ronaldo has 34 titles in his senior career and not 32 as mentioned in the article. The missing titles are the 2008 Community Shield and the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, which were not contested by the player but must be included because he was part of the team. (talk) 16:05, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The 2016 UEFA Super Cup title is only conferred upon players who were in Real Madrid's nominated squad for the game. That does not include Ronaldo. Citations can be found in the archive of Talk:Cristiano Ronaldo. – PeeJay 16:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Information: Manchester United Goal of the Season (05/06, 07/08, 21/22)

[edit]

  • What I think should be changed: Please change "2008-09" under "Goal of the Competition" ""Manchester United" "Goal of the Season" to "2005-06, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2021-22". The number of "Goal of the Season" awards Cristiano Ronaldo won at Manchester United should include years 2005/06, 2007/08, and 2021/22 as well. Currently, only 2008/09 is displayed.

FIFA Team of the Season

[edit]

Note: TOTS began in FUT 12

  • What I think should be changed: FIFA Team of the Season: 2011-2012 La Liga, 2012-2013 La Liga, 2013-2014 La Liga, 2014-2015 La Liga, 2015-2016 La Liga, 2016-2017 La Liga, 2017-2018 La Liga, 2018-2019 Serie A, 2019-2020 Serie A, 2020-2021 Serie A, 2021-2022 Premier League
  • Why it should be changed: Currently FIFA Team of the Season is not included in the list. This award is given to the best players in their domestic leagues across the season. (Note: This is different to the FIFA Team of the Year that is already in the list, which is given to the best players over the calendar year)

FIFA Ultimate Team of the Season

[edit]

Note: This category began in FIFA 13

  • What I think should be changed: FIFA Ultimate Team of the Season: 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022
  • Why it should be changed: This category is currently not mentioned. This is a theoratical team formed by the best players across all domestic leagues (as opposed to TOTS which has a theoratical team for every single domestic league) across the season. It consists of players from different Teams of the season, thus it is named the "Ultimate team of the season". (Note: This is different from team of the season and team of the year)

Removing Section: "International man of the match awards"

[edit]

  • What I think should be changed: The section "International man of the match awards" should be removed
  • Why it should be changed: This section is currently very incomplete and with inaccurate information. For instance, both club and international fixtures are included in the table while only the latter should be included. Moreover, the international man of the match awards are not fully listed.
