Great work
[edit]A few sugestions:
- the team records should be before the individual records IMO. I think that they somehow carry greater importance than individual performances.
- each table needs a rank column as its 1st column: 1,2,3 etc
- excuse what's probably a silly question, but what does "consecutive games" mean. is it games played without missing a week?
- Most goals in a season has 25 entries. Are we going to have some inclusion criteria? If not some silly-billy will come along one day and expand this ad-infinitum. I suggest top-10 for all tables.
- Career record tables should have a column showing career span (years from-to)

Thanks for your input, it is a work in progress so any assistance is appreciated. In regard to inclusion criteria I have just added notes at the top of each table stating the qualifications required. I have restricted the 'goals in a season' table to 130 goals which works out at exactly ten players.
The consecutive games records are as you stated games played without missing a week. So in other words they have played every possible game for their club from beginning of the streak to the finish.
I will add both career span and rankings asap and have switched team records to the top as suggested.
Cheers

- The AFL site has put up the teams lists for every single game http://stats.afl.com.au/public/statistics/player_roundbyround.shtml. I noticed from that data Titus only played 202 games in a row. Richmond had a one bye in each of 1942 and 1943, but surely they don't count byes in the streak. Bartlett's longest streak is 115, also according to that info. The other entries in this list are in line with the AFL site.

most premierships as coach
[edit]the most premierships as coach should be added, as should the players who have played in the most wins and the most losses — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.135.162 (talk) 05:45, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

List of VFL/AFL records → List of Australian Football League records – in line with this recent move, it would be better to unabbreviate to prevent confusion and ambiguity 68.151.25.115 (talk) 18:45, 28 June 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 21:21, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose – page includes whole history of the VFL/AFL, not just the since 1990 AFL. Although it would be better to not have an abbreviation, the use of VFL/AFL is common practice in the project and more accurate than Australian Football League records. Flickerd (talk) 09:04, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- then what about List of Victorian Football League/Australian Football League records, though i know it is long?68.151.25.115 (talk) 11:54, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- WP:TITLEFORMAT says that abbreviations are fine "[if] the subject is known primarily by its abbreviation and that abbreviation is primarily associated with the subject". Given that this is definitely the case here, and that WP:CONCISE is a thing, I don't think there's any problem with the abbreviated title. I highly doubt that there's any articles this page is linked from where there could be any confusion over what the VFL/AFL is. SellymeTalk 12:54, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

- Support and suggest relisting again. In Australia, yes, everyone knows what AFL, NRL etc mean (and many would be unsure what they stand for!) but globally, AFL records is seriously unrecognisable and sounds like a record label. I see from Talk:List of National Rugby League records that it's been moved twice now, and the latest move had minimal participation, the reasoning is IMO very questionable and the result reads like the title of an article on all nations that play Rugby League. But I think the decision to avoid the abbreviation there is a good one, anyway! Andrewa (talk) 01:17, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support - agree it's better to spell it out, and I think it's fine to drop the VFL part. As far as I can gather, VFL and AFL refer to the same competition, just under a different name, so it should be obvious that when you say AFL you mean that one competitino for its whole history. — Amakuru (talk) 14:59, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose - Misleading and revisionist to label Victorian Football League records as Australian Football League records without flagging them as so. AFL always use VFL/AFL when including pre-1990 records.Thejoebloggsblog (talk) 06:13, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
