Season 10

I can't believe that you people are still arguing about this. The Season 10 infomation content should be there and besides three episodes have already aired. And the others are also airing in the next few weeks. Here are the episodes:

So the other episodes to come next week are: "Cockpit Failure" (Crossair Flight 3597) and "Hudson Splash Down" (US Airways Flight 1549) So Thanks. User:Qantasplanes (talk) 08:01, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

I already gave up arguing with the fools here. Thanks for updating it, Qantasplanes. Looks much better now. Michael5046 (talk) 22:19, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Can someone please tell me why it was Season 6/7 for a long time and then suddenly it jumped to Season 10/11. Have Cineflix actually mentioned anywhere that the Specials were given their own season? The IMDB season titles do not match what is on here, so really all the Specials should be removed from their own season unless someone can come up with some hard evidence. Thanks. User:Bobman84 13 March, 2011.
As I said before the source is on the article. -- d'oh! [talk] 06:27, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
As much as I hate to support d'oh!, he is correct: http://www.cineflix.com/sections/19-Programming/shows/series_breakdown
Not to say that he didn't scream bloody murder if anyone tried to convince him of that fact 6 months ago! Rampage Rick (talk) 05:17, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Not to be a noob here, but where did all the other conversations go? Also the dates for season 10 are backwards. --User:greg787 —Preceding undated comment added 22:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC).
Good question! I archived the talk page just the other day. User:Qantasplanes (talk) 04:02, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Yikes that got out of hand quickly! Thanks Qantasplanes. What airdates are we using? Tonight is Hudson Splash Down and last week was Heathrow. I'm unfamiliar with the Crossair? I'd like to change it but given the hostility previously displayed here I'd want to get it approved first. user:greg787 15:38, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks guys. All cleared up now. Can we all get along for the greater good perhaps? Also, can someone suggest if the alternate episode names be applied again to the last update of Season 10. Bobman84 20:37, 24 March 2011 (AEST).

Pilot Betrayed aired tonight in Canada. Cockpit Failure and Heathrow Enigma were the season premiere which was last Sunday (March 13th).174.5.11.131 (talk) 03:53, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Airplane type

Hello everyone, I have a question..I remember visiting this page a long long time ago...at the time each episode used to have what type of airplane was involved in the accident..it is not really an absolutely essential fact..and can be easily accessible by clicking on the flight number involved..I am simply wondering about the direct reason it was taken off..

Thank you 91Bolland (talk) 02:23, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Well you could ask D'oh! about it, I'm not sure. Qantasplanes (talk) 05:40, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

I did remove the aircraft type during the major style change, since the information is available on the Flight's own article and is not a big part of the episodes. -- d'oh! [talk] 06:48, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Alternate Titles

When I first created my Wikipedia account last year in July I still remember there were the ALT titles as well as the original ones. Should we put 'em back. Well I think so. Qantasplanes (talk) 05:44, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

A few different titles for one episode may cause confusion for readers. If you add them back, can you explain why they are there, e.g.
..title.. in UK
..title.. in USA
..title.. on National Geographic Channel
-- d'oh! [talk] 06:48, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Okay I will do that later.... Thanks D'oh! Qantasplanes (talk) 08:05, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
That would be good. It helps to locate certain episodes much quicker if the ALT titles are on here as this is by far the most informative resource of this series. Thanks Bobman84 04:20 28 March, 2011 —Preceding undated comment added 17:21, 27 March 2011 (UTC).

Qantasplanes, can you please fix up the disambiguation for America, is it USA or Americas? -- d'oh! [talk] 09:08, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I will. Qantasplanes (talk) 06:42, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

I have 45 of the 72 episodes that have aired in Canada on my PVR, so I can provide the proper Canadian titles if you want.65.39.13.162 (talk) 15:48, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

^^^^ That was actually me from my I.P. Address at school. I'll start posting my list for Canada here. All of the titles I post are EXACTLY as they are shown in the intros to the episodes. Most are shown in block letters.174.5.11.131 (talk) 18:19, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

I might have a solution to this problem I'll put a new section in the List of Mayday episodes article.

How should we organize it? Maybe a table with each country as a heading? 174.5.11.131 (talk) 02:26, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe a wikitable. I will do it sooner or later 174.5.11.131 thanks. Qantasplanes (talk) 05:26, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm working on it now. Qantasplanes (talk) 07:01, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

We need to put alternative titles back into the article, if someones going to do it can they do it soon Alexandarkotevski (talk) 06:29, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Season 9

I'd like to point out that in the episode "Panic on the Runway", the crew do survive the accident. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patrick-liu11 (talkcontribs) 04:54, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Season 11 Episodes

On a Facebook page (Link) it says they are filming episodes. Two confirmed already. Qantasplanes (talk) 03:28, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

There will be 10 episodes coming up in 2012: Like last time I got an official E-MAIL!

Thanks Qantasplanes (talk) 03:58, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Like last time, an email comes under original research and without any confirmation open to all, the episodes are unlisted.- William 10:41, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Maybe these episodes will be true... Thanks Qantasplanes (talk) 05:26, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Like your Bass Strait hijack edit was true? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Mayday_episodes&oldid=372175041. Sometime I should go list all the aviation incidents that have been listed in the article as having an episode made about them but none was ever made. The list would be over 10 in length and more likely have about two dozen entries. Some clairvoyant had Cineflix making an episode about a Cuba Plane crash two days after it happened. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Mayday_episodes&oldid=395137322- William 13:05, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Qantasplanes, could you perhaps post a picture of the email so we know if it's true or not and to eliminate any confusion? Also, two things about that list strike me as odd. First of all, seeing as they just recovered the CVR and FDR from Air France 447 a few days ago, and still aren't 100% sure of the cause, it seems kind of weird that they would make an episode like that. Second, maybe it's just me, but it seems kind of odd that they would call and episode "Wheel of Misfortune", an obvious pun on the game show Wheel of Fortune, seeing as they haven't made any puns in the titles of episodes before, and it's not really appropriate when so many people have died. Again, maybe it's just me, but it seems odd. 174.5.11.131 (talk) 01:38, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I know the Bass Strait Hijack episodes wasn't true. I might just want you, William to look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_Mayday_episodes/Archive_1#season_5. User Flyguy 649 posted it with a e-mail from Cineflix. And the e-mail sent from Cineflix was a PDF file. It had all the episodes listed on the document. By the way, Season 11 is in filming and there not probably going to do AF 447 now. The are probably up to the AR 1285 and CE 2574. Thanks... Qantasplanes (talk) 10:12, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't think I can't post a picture of a .pdf file... Qantasplanes (talk) 07:07, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Snagit and other screen software can take captures of PDFs.- William 10:42, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
This is the e-mail message I got today:

Hi matt

It probably wasn’t up to date – sorry about that. Always go by the website.

Here is the latest sales sheets we have that includes up to series 11. Season 12 has just been greenlit but we don’t have the stories for that one yet

Thanks Carrie 121.214.92.10 (talk) 08:47, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

^^^^^^ That was me. I will upload a few pictures of the .pdf file later today or tomorrow. Qantasplanes (talk) 05:48, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Got file awaiting for permission! Qantasplanes (talk) 06:02, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Yikes! Carrie (form Cineflix) said it was best not to publish the file I have online. But I can still write with it. Qantasplanes (talk) 07:01, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Good to hear about the new episodes. Hope they cover Lauda 004 out of those 26 to be made. Bobman84 12:56, 24 May, 2011 —Preceding undated comment added 14:56, 23 May 2011 (UTC).

I'd say that the episode "Impossible Climb" is confirmed by Photo's 174.5.11.131 (talk) 00:46, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Same with the TAM 3054 Photo's 174.5.11.131 (talk) 00:49, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I know. The 'Lost at Sea' episode about AF 447 could be the last to air because they've just found out that the captain wasn't in the cockpit when the Airbus ran into trouble. News Article Thanks Qantasplanes (talk) 07:09, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Just read an article (CLICK HERE to read it) that the Airbus Jetliner stalled 10000 feet per minute. And the official full report won't be due until next year.

Maybe this episode might be in Season 12. Qantasplanes (talk) 06:24, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Episodes are airing.... Great News! Qantasplanes (Talk!) 07:44, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Mythical Mayday episodes

Some of these come with a link, some don't

Included in this list are episodes that were listed as made long before they were produced.(One year or over)

1 Comair 5191- 2 Luxair 9642 3 Spanair 5022 4 Continantal 1404 5 Singapore 006 6 Crossair 498 7 Pulkovo 612 8 Dan Air 1008 9 China airlines 642 - [[1]]

That's nine so far.

10 TAP Portugal Flight 425- [[2]]

11 United Airlines Flight 175 and 12 American Airlines Flight 11- [[3]]

We're up to 12

13 Hindenburg disaster and 14 Korean Air Lines Flight 902 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Mayday_episodes&diff=next&oldid=393442605%7Chere 4]]

Someone might say the Hindenburg episode was so much hot air.

15 ValuJet Airlines Flight 592- [[4]]

16 Aero Caribbean Flight 883 - [[5]]

The announcement of 883 occurred exactly two days after the crash. Somebody must have had a relative at Cineflix

17 1956 Grand Canyon mid-air collision- [[6]]

18 Air New Zealand 901 19 Asiana Airlines Flight 733 20 Pan Am Flight 103* 21 Arrow Flight 1285 22 Lauda Flight 004 23 Jetblue Airways Flight 292- [[7]]

Pan AM 103 makes the list because the listing I cite is almost two years before an episode was made about that disaster

24 China Airlines Flight 140

Here come some classics

25 Bass Strait Hijack- [[8]] provided by Qantasplanes

But that doesn't come close to winning an award. The first runner-up is

26 Thai Airways Flight 358- [[9]]

What's brilliant about this is that it was not only listed as episode, but a whole article written up written about it was that two times

[[10]] and [[11]] it was the subject of Articles for deletion discussions

27 Korean Air 007 is listed in the Thai article. Like with Pan Am 103, this is over a year before an episode was made about the crash.

but the all-time prize winner for fiction writing at the article goes to. Drumroll please.......................

28 BA flight 0001 / September 21, 1960 / Mcdonald Douglas MD80 / CO-Pilot Suicide British Airways flight 0001 took off from Manchester Airport in 1960 the co-pilot hits the captian over the head with a fire extinguisher. on board flight attendant Lucy Rivers is shocked and disarms the co-pilot, but not before the plane plummets into a busy high school in Newall Green, Killing 600 on the ground and 200 on flight, 58 passengers survive and 8 cabin crew, co-pilot Sarah Donovan perishes but Pilot Patricia Itshen survives.- [[12]]

The worst aviation disaster (over 800 dead) ever taking place without billions of other people hearing about it and 20 years ahead of when the type aircraft was put into service. Wow.

This isn't even a complete list.

So if anyone asks why confirmation is needed before an upcoming episode list is made out, kindly direct them to this.- William 15:55, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Why is episode 28 true? It's not MD-80's not even DC-9's were made in those times. Whoa a lot of rubbish! 58.164.102.121 (talk) 08:19, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
I didn't say #28 was true. I said it was the prize winner for fiction writing in the article. William 12:14, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry! Didn't read it properly. 58.164.102.121 (talk) 08:20, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Would it be possible to keep the format as it is now. We have a short section with possible future episodes and cite sources that prove the episodes are in production. Greg787 (talk) 16:52, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I agree. Qantasplanes (Talk with me) 04:32, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Season 11 Discussion

Ok we know that there will be an eleventh season of Mayday. Here are some sources:

So 4 episodes of TAM Airlines Flight 3054, West Caribbean Flight 708, Continental Express Flight 2574 and Arrow Air Flight 1285 are probably true, but the other episodes in Season 11 are still TBC. Will post more when possible. Thanks. Qantasplanes (Talk with me) 03:37, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Two more mythical mayday episdoes

Just in case you missed them. They existed for less than ten minutes.

SilkAir Flight 185 and Saudia Flight 163- [13]

Here's the summary too of the Mayday episode on the Saudia incident

In 1980 a Lockheed L-1011-200 TriStar carrying 301 passengers and crew, crashed in Saudi Arabia due to a fire in the cargo hold 6 minutes into the flight. The aircrasft rolled and dived into the ground, everybody on board are killed.

I still think the editor who wrote about an MD-80 crash[[14]] in 1960 killing 600 people gets the prize for fiction writing in this article.- William 17:37, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi William, The difference between SilkAir Flight 185 and Saudia Flight 163 is that the SilkAir episode actually aired and we have proof. Just search youtube and its there. - Greg 20:55, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

What proof? That somebody labeled a documentary produced in 2007 about the SilkAir crash a Mayday episode? Apparently they didn't read the credits at the 8:56 point of part five of that video[15], or read this Wikipedia article or knew that Cineflix produces[16] Mayday not APV an outfit out of Hong Kong.
The proof you're speaking of is a joke.- William 23:23, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Air date Season 11 ep. 4

I have looked on all the relevant websites and have found no proof that Season 11 Episode 4 has aired. Also, forums that discuss this show have indicated it has not aired. I have removed the air date until proof can be found. Griffinofwales (talk) Simple English Wikipedia - Come and join! 13:57, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

The episode hasn't aired but its been announced by Discovery Canada.(As has the Munich crash episode) I'm going to take down everything past episode #3. When these episodes will air is unknown and WP isn't TV Guide. The rest of the grid is fill in the blank and the Korean Air episode is based on IMDB which can be wrong sometimes. Qantasplanes isn't going to like it but he'll get over it.- William 19:28, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Seems to be an appropriate action, and IIRC, is what has been done in previous years. Griffinofwales (talk) Simple English Wikipedia - Come and join! 22:23, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

http://aircrashinvestigationmayday.webs.com/season11.htm - shows Episode 4 aired on 3 September. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobman84 (talkcontribs) 16:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

That's a 3rd party website and not a reliable source.- William 16:49, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
It didn't air in Canada. I've been waiting for it for over a month. :( 65.39.13.192 (talk) 21:20, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Yeap. Cineflix says there won't be any airings of new episodes soon. Oh well. Qantasplanes (Let's disscuss it!) 07:04, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
This is why no episode goes into the article till a reliable source says it will be aired and when. Reliable sources- Discovery Canada and Cineflix Unreliable sources- Internet Movie Database and anything else- William 13:58, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
William is correct. Qantasplanes (Let's disscuss it!) 21:39, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

History repeating itself

I'm talking about the behavior of editors, mostly Qantasplanes, but not entirely.

Some of which involve his recent edits of episodes that haven't aired and its not known when they will air. He put these up earlier, but they were taken down. That was late September but now here in early November he's putting a variation of the old edits up again.

Cineflix and Discovery Canada have given no air dates for the episodes. We don't know if they're even the next episodes to be aired.

In July 2010, Qantasplanes insisted on putting up episodes based on original research. They were taken down and similar to this year, tried putting them back up again a little over a month after their removal and his agreement to it.

He's edited into the article season 11 episodes that there is no confirmation for. Where's those Wheel of Misfortune and Deadly Virus episodes again?[17]

Oh and how about Bass Strait Hijack, when is that one coming out?[18]

I've listed over 25 mythical episodes that have been put on this page.[19] In truth, the list is much longer. Unconfirmed and made up episodes number over 50. Some of them were taken down by me but not all. I'm not putting up bs on the page, just removing it, and Qantasplanes tells me to grow up. He and other editors with their make believe programming wishlists are the ones vandalizing the page and others.- William 22:42, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

no source then it gets removed plain and simple wikipedia is about verifiablilty. doesnt matter how much a user doesnt like it request for the page to protect that will prevent it--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 10:37, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Agree with Andrew on this; considering how wrong he's been in the past, there's no reason to post information on things that may happen, let's just put what has happened. Griffinofwales (talk) Simple English Wikipedia - Come and join! 23:06, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I didn't even mention how Qantasplanes insisted on this edit for an episode being aired last September 2nd when it still hasn't aired almost a month later![20]
And I put it on "Delayed". William sometimes is such a sourpuss! Qantasplanes (talk) 06:18, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Ok this clearly has two biased editors opinions etc. although william is correct it shouldnt be added without sources i have been reviewing some of this and it seems there bias form both of you, ok i am happy to review the content your both disputing and give outside perpestive on it and give my suggestion on hwo to progress or else this might have to head toa dispute resolution--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 14:54, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
What needs dispute resolution? No bias, simply following policy. Just don't post the episodes until they air. Done, Finito! Griffinofwales (talk) Simple English Wikipedia - Come and join! 13:38, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

bias is maybe the worng word, but conflict of itnerest might bea better way to describe it, although qantas is adding stuf i have reviewed sometimes there has been sources to verify what he is saying and not always unrealible stuff, but why the channels decides not air it is another questions i see uk channels do that a lot say they will air something then cancel it last inute,, there nothing wrong with addng the episodes if a surce is there but dnt adda airdate until it airs, william seems to want to make the article candaian only which is against wikipedia rules there no bias towards one country if it airs in multi countries then it should be added sources where possible, the reason for dispute resolution is simple nither side seems to be able to agree on what to do, so both at times breaking rules 3RR applies ot this and i have seen there been mroe than 3 reverts at times so that why i believe therea dispute--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 14:50, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
WP:Conflict of interest is defined as 'an incompatibility between the aim of Wikipedia, which is to produce a neutral, reliably sourced encyclopedia, and the aims of an individual editor. COI editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote your own interests or those of other individuals, companies, or groups.' That isn't going on here.
I"m not aiming to make the article Canadian(BTW I'm from Florida in the United States but was born in New York less than fifty miles from New York City) but at present am using Discovery Canada as the guide for putting episodes up because at this moment they are airing them ahead of anyone else.
Griffinofwales solution is the simplest and doesn't lead to bs appearing in the article. Besides people making up episodes, and in this instance[21] making up an aviation incident and then making it a Mayday episode, there is the fact that some perfectly legit websites put wrong information up about the show. IIRC Either Nat Geo or one of the Discovery Channel websites had an episode listed about Northwest Airlines Flight 5. Lets not forget WP:Crystallball.
Qantasplanes might be guilty of sockpuppetry. He's been suspected of it in the past. Up above he called me a sourpuss. Another editor by the name of Bobman84 did the same thing[22] on this page- William 18:38, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

i agree with only adding the airdate once it has aired, but i have reviewed a quite a few of the things added and sometimes depending on teh source cited for the innformation it then does air at some point, my guess would be canada isnt airing them first but canda only one witha guide to say the air dates, you could be right and qantas could be a sock but i aint goign to speculate they ae innconent until roven guilty. i think what has to be done is estbalish sites that are putting up information that is correct and can be trusted as source to add new episode titles befor ethere aired but the airdate is left blank until after airing somewher ein the english country. which i would suggest that it gets changed to be

airdate (canada)
airdate (uk)
airdate (ireland)
airdate (australia)
airdate (america)
airdate (new zealand). the order doesnt matter much just how i tohught of english countries but that only a suggestion--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 20:26, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Something that's being forgotten- That the episodes I took down are actually mentioned in the article. Take a look, there's a brief summary of season 11 above the episode grid. What I did was remove the parts of the grid because nobody knows what episode will be next or when it will be aired plus its duplicate material.
Qantasplanes basically wants his cake and eat it too. He wants the episodes in the summary and the grid. That's saying the same thing twice.- William 20:41, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
fair point, but they really should be in the table itself but if you have meantioned them that fine but have there aired elsewhere>?
No they haven't aired anywhere. Only 3 Season 11 episodes have aired.- William 22:29, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Hey, change the order. The Continental Express episode is airing AFTER the Munich Air Disaster. 174.5.11.131 (talk) 06:46, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Ok, I will. Thankls for the heads up! Qantasplanes (talk) 06:54, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Once again third party, not reliable source. CGet a reliable source, Nat Geo, Discovery Channel, CIneflix, then it can go in the article. Otherwise this will remain out till a source is found or the episodes actually air.- William 19:01, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
This is a realiable source William. Checkout http://www.cineflixproductions.com/schedules?sh=28. Qantasplanes (talk) 22:39, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Here is an article on a Canadian newspaper (in Spanish) about the filming of episode "Levee Landing" (11x11 according to the IMDB). It will cover the incident of TACA Flight 110: http://www.elcorreo.ca/story.php?story_id=18599 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.141.111.236 (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Done Thanks again... Qantasplanes (talk) 05:03, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Now, episode Blind Spot is scheduled to be broadcasted on January 27th and it will cover PSA Flight 182, as suspected. http://tvonline.bell.ca/tvonline/servlet/CommandServlet?command=flow&processid=167&simpleSearchKeyWord=mayday&requestedPage=0&requestedSortMethod=3&requestedSearchMethod=0&filterProgramMethod=0&filterProgramType=0&simpleSearchSelectedResultTitle=Mayday&simpleSearchSelectedResultEpisodeTitle=Blind%20Spot&occurences=0&prevRequestedPageNum=0&prevRequestedSortMethod=3&INT=internalSearch — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.141.10.200 (talk) 15:03, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Missing episodes

There seems to be an episode missing from this list. Its about Air France 4590 an it is definitely a Mayday episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLYbdFUbiv8

Man, what is wrong with you? That's a SFD episode. Qantasplanes (talk) 02:35, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Explanation

1- The editor consensus here has always been against blank grids. The history of this page shows it has many mischievous with some of them done by regular editors here. Where are those Lost At Sea, Deadly Virus, Asleep at the Wheel, and Bass Strait Hijack episodes, Qantasplanes?

2- The Blind spot episode is scheduled to air but no summary was given as to what aviation accident it was. I removed it. That the episode may be PSA 182 is just speculation.

I'm sure what the episode will or will not be will known in a very short period of time.(Days probably) Then somebody can fill it in.

3- Levee Landing isn't scheduled. We just came off 3 months of knowing or thinking we knew Continental express 1754 would be an episode, but not knowing when it would air. WP isn't a crystal ball and Levee landing will stay down till we get a date from a reliable source.William 01:00, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Bass Stait Hijack? I didn't right that. I know you put it up on the Mythical episodes but I wasn't the editor who put it up in the first place. Lost At Sea, Deadly Virus, Asleep at the Wheel, episodes will obviously be comin' back William. Qantasplanes (talk) 04:54, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh yes Bass Strait Hijack was edited[23] into the article by you.- William 11:56, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
[24], even earlier Qantasplanes (talk) 12:10, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't think they will make AF 447 till the official report for the crash is completed. Qantasplanes (talk) 22:47, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

New episode? AF447

Are was surfing the web when I saw this: http://natgeotv.com/bg/razsledvane-na-samoletni-katastrofi/about (You might need Google Translate). It looks like Air France Flight 447. Should I add it? I'll add it for now Qantasplanes (talk) 11:42, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

UPDATE: http://natgeotv.com/hr/air-crash-investigation/about : Says disaster runway, probably TAM 3054.

Someone's posting that Flight 447 will be aired, pointing to a page written in Bulgarian that says "Air France 447," but I don't consider that reliable enough. Not to mention, as you said, the report still hasn't been released. I doubt Mayday/ACI/AE would do a story on a crash that hasn't had an official report published... They may air that episode in March, I don't know, but Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so let's not say the episode's airing until we're absolutely sure. Paris1127 (talk) 18:50, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Paris. Qantasplanes has spun back and forth on AF 447 being an episode and it not being an episode and now it is an episode again. Get me some dramamine, I'm getting a case of motion sickness.
Just yesterday somebody put up more make believe episodes. Divi Divi and the Staines disaster now make the list of mythical episodes at over 30. Erebus and Saudi 163 have been listed before.
Bottom line- Be patient, if the episode is going to air on March 12th we'll know for sure in approximately 3 weeks. Thanks Paris too for identifying what language it was. I thought it was Eastern European.- William 19:00, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure it was Qantasplanes, the history says it was the IP 124.181.198.206 that reverted my edit. As for the language, the country code was .bg which is the one for Bulgaria. You have to admit, though, that Staines disaster would be an interesting story if it were true. It would be a good episode (turns out it did happen, I mixed it up with the mythical pilot suicide episode, BA 001) Paris1127 (talk) 20:47, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
I am almost certain that this is simply Lost: The Mystery of Flight 447 produced by Kenny Scott being shown under the "Air Crash Investigations" banner in Europe. Note that this same documentary, slightly edited in each case, has been shown on BBC, as a Nova episode, and on CBC's passionate eye. Likely either National Geographic UK or Digi TV has picked up the rights to it, and is simply branding it as an Air Crash Investigation episode simply because the name is known. Ravendrop 00:04, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Ok thanks. Qantasplanes (talk) 05:22, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Didn't they also brand that SilkAir special as an ACI episode too and somebody thought it was a Mayday episode? 174.5.11.131 (talk) 02:14, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

ACI and Mayday are the same shows. Paris1127 (talk) 03:14, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Not always, as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLYbdFUbiv8&feature=related I believe that's a Seconds From Disaster episode, yet branded as an ACI. So an episode of Mayday can be an episode of ACI, but the opposite is not true. 65.39.13.192 (talk) 16:28, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
