Reverting back changes

[edit]

@MrOllie I consider your reverts really unhelpful. Please do not remove valid edits because you don't like them. Improve them if you care. SirGazsi (talk) 14:50, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I consider edit warring to force in the opinions of trade groups like the ICF to be unhelpful, especially considering the long-term promotional campaign being waged by single purpose accounts on their behalf. MrOllie (talk) 14:53, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ICF has 50.000+ active members, I don't know that we have any other international body who is more credible than them about coaching. Please cite any other organization who has another views on the definitions if you aim for more objectivity.
I am not aware of promotional campaigns or SPAs about this matter, I act on my own as a professional coach.
Do you have a long history with them? SirGazsi (talk) 15:11, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia relies on secondary sources, not statements by trade organizations. MrOllie (talk) 15:14, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These are more than just press statements to be fair.
Calling for more 2nd sources is not bad, I've just found some really nice article compare all sorts of definitions and even promoting coming up with your own as a coach.
To promote neutrality and objectivity, I've created a whole new section dedicated for definitions. SirGazsi (talk) 15:41, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Piling on more primary sources isn't helping. Are you associated with the ICF in some way? MrOllie (talk) 15:45, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm an ICF accredited coach as a matter of fact. Is this secondary source enough to include?

Per WP:COI you shouldn't be editing this article at all, let alone edit warring to add mentions of the ICF and links to their website. MrOllie (talk) 16:16, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MrOllie Just to state the facts: I am not and employee of ICF, nor paid by ICF in any way, nor my edits were biased in any way towards ICF.
Without evidence to actual conflict of interest you are displaying a serious error in judgement and discriminating people based on their profession. This is a serious violation of not just Wikipedia rules but general community ethics such as avoid assuming bad faith in advance.
By the way, I feel really uncomfortable and disappointed right now.
I will raise this issue to the community, including Wikimedia Foundation for further guidance. SirGazsi (talk) 17:17, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ANI is that way MrOllie (talk) 17:19, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
MrOllie is right: experts in psychology or anthropology are those who should be used as sources in this article, not trade groups. Veverve (talk) 17:40, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've cleaned all the promotional sounding stuff out again, per the apparent consensus of this talk page and the discussion held at WP:AN. - MrOllie (talk) 13:28, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

To delete text without explanation? It looks not professional. Could you please explain your action? Thank you. David1886 (talk) 18:05, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As I explained in the edit summary, you didn't cite even a single source. Per WP:V that is required. MrOllie (talk) 19:31, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
