Notability
[edit]The Institute is covered in German media, but mostly in relation to its research projects that do not provide useful information about the Institute itself (e.g. [1] [2] [3][4][5][6]). I honestly thought that notability was always assumed for (former) Leibniz-Institutes and german organizations of public law (de). LukeTriton (talk) 11:17, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @LukeTriton:
- (I've moved your comment from the draft page here, because if you comment on that page it either messes up the AfC template, or becomes incorporated into the draft itself, depending on where you place the comment.)
- If there is secondary source coverage available about this organisation, please cite it in the draft. Reviewers will only look at the sources in the draft, we may not consider extraneous source listings and will not carry out research ourselves. In fact, such sources should not only be cited, Wikipedia articles should mostly be based on what third parties, entirely independent of the subject, have said, rather than what the subject itself wants to tell the world about itself.
- If, however, the secondary sources have only covered individual research projects, as you seem to suggest, rather than the institute as a whole, then these would not establish notability for the institute, as notability is not inherited by association.
- And finally, there is no automatic notability for any organisation; per WP:ORGSIG,
"No company or organization is considered inherently notable. No organization is exempt from this requirement, no matter what kind of organization it is"

- PS: I've reverted your resubmission, to avoid an automatic decline on the same basis as before. Feel free to resubmit when you've made whatever edits you deem necessary based on the above advice. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:34, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your patience and detailed response, DoubleGrazing. I did some Google searches and used every relevant source with an English Wikipedia article (all are linked) to reference two brief sentences about the institutes fields of work. If this isn't sufficient for notability, I'm perfectly fine with limiting it to a German article. Thank you very much LukeTriton (talk) 16:40, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
