CBBC not CBeebies
Am I right in thinking that the show is shown on the BBC kids channel CBBC as opposed to being shown on the BBC toddlers channel CBeebies?? not sure, but iv seen it and i DONT watch CBeebies lol!! Woodgreener 17:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
It is being shown on CBeebies and simultaneously on BBC 2 at 7:30 AM. You can check the sked here [1]
Character stubs
Do the characters really merit their own separate stubs? I think the character descriptions should just be placed in this article. We should merge all the character articles with this one. --Eilu 03:38, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Well each of the actors while on the show DO appear in several different shows. I guess by your same thoughts, we should just move EVERY actor or actress appearing on every tv show onto it's same page right? They each have notability for different roles they are playing, while yes it is the same TV show, they are not the same people and they do perform in other things.Justadding 09:31, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Not to mention you've been on Wiki now for 14 days and your ready to take on something that isn't needed, is this vanity perhaps?Justadding 09:32, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- What I meant was that for the character of "Stingy" for example, it will always just say "Stingy is a fictional character from the TV show LazyTown... he is a... blah blah blah." The article will not expand further than that, so it should probably just be merged with the main LazyTown article. I don't see what you mean by "vanity." --Eilu 02:09, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

History of Lazytown Puppetry
I saw the episode Secret Agent Zero today and Sportacus enters the mayors office and hears a voice. It is Robbie Rotten sitting at the mayor's desk... but not the normal Robbie Rotten we are used to seeing.
Disembodied voice, "So Mr. Sportacus, now we meet again .. at last."
Mayor's chair swivels around to reveal puppet version of Robbie Rotten.
"That's not real... that's a puppet," says Sportacus to the puppet.
The real Robbie Rotten jumps up from hiding to reveal that he is manipulating the puppet controls. "Yes, its a puppet, BUT i am real," he says.
It is clear that this is some sort of an inside joke. I have seen a website showing these puppets ( http://www.witpuppets.com/puppets.html ) . Are these the 'original' forms of the characters before the television show? If so, the article needs some additional information about the history of the whole LazyTown idea and its evolution from its inception. --Avanu 04:21, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- That's a really interesting site - if that is true then the site and information should be added to the article. --Jelligraze 01:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- They are modeled on how they looked in Latibær. That's also why there's a policeman character. Wormy 14:57, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Stephanie is loli?
Maybe it should be mentioned in the article that Stephanie has aquired fanclub of older men who finds her loli, and draws cartoons and makes short music videos about her. 81.233.56.34 12:58, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- There's plenty of fan based material on many television shows I'm sure, but that doesn't always mean they've had a big enough impact to warrant an edit. Until it does, there's not much of a reason to write anything about it. See Wikipedia:Notability. - Rudykog 18:47, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

- Just for examples of edited pictures. There's worse out there and the unedited video clips are also quite popular. For some people it may be because of the catchy songs and high energy, but for a lot of others, it's the loli quality of Stephanie (and I should point out, I think it's only the character Stephanie; the actress who plays her doesn't get this kind of attention). Whether or not it's notable yet, I can't say, but it's already fairly widespread and starting to become a YTMND and possibly 4chan meme. I think the notability comes from the fact that a lot of the popularity is centered on Stephanie, which is worthy of being mentioned in a factual context. - Insomniac By Choice 09:23, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- The disparity between Julianna and Stephanie's ages (Julianna(15), Stephanie (8)) probably has something to do with why the actress doesn't get the attention of the character.--Tricksterson 17:08, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- It most definitely has hit 4chan. Most of the posts involving Stephanie are lolicon in context. If the reference to 4chan is WP:N, then the reasoning behind it is as well. Roninbk 17:45, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- One important thing to keep in mind is that not all older LazyTown fans are inappropriately fixated on Stephanie. That makes up an (unfortunate) portion of the fan community, but there are plenty of adult fans that are not sexually obsessed with the underage star. It would be unfair to the community as a whole to even imply such a generalization. HamatoKameko 13:32, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- What is a loli? --JDitto
- Lolicon. Yes, I know. Pacific Coast Highway (blah • not even doom music) 03:45, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Removed content from article
I'm referring directly to the removed text by an anonymous user ( 24.98.105.197 ) regarding Stephanie as a sex symbol, and a lack of citation referencing this fact. It may not be right, but it is certainly very, very easy to see that a good many people (outside of 4chan and ytmnd also) find Stephanie attractive and the amount of fan created material is, I feel, significant. What I /do/ agree on is that this should not be glamourised in the wiki, but noted in some tasteful way, and this is what I do think may be difficult to handle. Removing the content altogether is simply to ignore the culture surrounding LazyTown. --Piro RoadKill 14:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- as was indicated by the {{citeneeded}}, there is no source for the claim. please see WP:NOR, WP:VER. feel free to provide a reliable source and re-insert the claim. --24.98.105.197 00:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- I accept this, please note I am not the one who wrote the addition and I am not the one who put it back. I'm merely discussing the relevance of it. -Piro RoadKill 14:34, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
my god man, ytmnd's are not a verifiable source. please see WP:NOR and WP:VER. i'm not going to get into an edit war over this. --24.98.105.197 20:35, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
My thoughts exactly. Examples do not equal a citeable source. Find me an article on this topic by a reputiable writer and then you have something. Krabstarr 14:52, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
This is something in the mold of Chuck Norris Facts where it's not going to be documented in a magazine for some time, despite its popularity. If you want to wait for it to come out in a "shocking expose" in a year or so, go ahead, but it doesn't make it any less real now. Of course, if you want I could go write a blog about it and link to that, which would be about as credible as a lot of sites referenced on these articles. -Insomniac By Choice
Chuck Norris Facts HAS been documented in magazines, and on TV by Chuck himself. Comparasion denied. Krabstarr 01:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I didn't say that Chuck Norris Facts weren't documented. Sorry if you read it that way. I meant that it took a very long time for it to get recognized, even after it was wildly popular on the internet. Comparison status: valid. -Insomniac By Choice
Does anyone else notice that Stephanie kinda looks like Natalie Portman in some angles..... and...... in the movie Closer, Natalie Portmans character has pink hair, coincidentally like Stephanie....

Suicideknifer, did you accidentally remove the comment from User talk:EdisLeado? Removing comments from another user is considering vandalism. I also noticed that you put the link to getlazy.tk back into the article, and as it was pointed out above, that's a violation of copyright laws, so I'm going to take it out. I'm also removing the link to the Livejournal community for Lazy Town because it violates W:LINKS. Wikipedia policy is to not link to social networking sites, including LJ. Of little importance but...
Have you guys noticed that Robbie Rotten's disguises are usually fairly good, considering it's a childrens show? I mean if it wasn't for the fact that there are only three human characters in the show, it'd be a little though to tell that the guy was Robbie Rotten until he got around to trying to talk people into doing what he wants.. I still have trouble recognizing him as the pirate captain..--Vercalos 08:46, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Owl?
An owl character named "Hoo Hoo" was added to the Others section. While I have not seen that particular episode, I deleted it for now due to 2 things: 1. User who added is unregistered 2. Suggestive name of the owl. Also, does the Others section need to list one-off characters? Shouldn't it be only for recurring characters? Kat, Queen of Typos 23:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Vandalisim?
In the characters section, I found this line:
This show is very homosexual, and promotes immorral things for kids to do, like be lazy, and have homosexual fun!
LOL CAZ ROTE HERE
This states an opinion, not a fact, and therefore can be considered vandalisim.
P.S. Who is "LOL CAZ"?-BlakJak664 13:42, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- This is just a classic example of vandalism. People write their names on pages.
"Lazy Town" two words?
It's two separate words in the logo, as the article's picture shows. Is it "officially" written or trademarked as LazyTown without the space? Equinox (talk) 05:02, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

age of Stephanie
I read a claim on a tropes wiki that Stephanie (LazyTown) is aged from 8 to 9 in the "Extra" spinoff. If this is supported by dialogue or press releases for Extra does anyone know which episode, what date this was released, etc?
Also curious if a change like this was introduced in season 3/4 or the stageplay. People keep adding 9/10 as her age and I want to locate a cite if it is based in fact and not conjecture. 184.145.18.50 (talk) 21:37, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Robbie Rotten is not Morrissey
It looks like someone is persistently editing the actor of Robbie Rotten to be Morrissey, probably as a joke because of Robbie's appearance being something of a caricature of Morrissey. The actual actor is Stefán Karl Stefánsson.
Note that Robbie Rotten memes have made their rounds around the Internet recently (October 2016), which might cause some unwanted edits to this page.

"1st time" "2nd time" in cast section
What does it mean? 1st series? If so it should be changed to it. 2.101.162.231 (talk) 08:39, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
- I did a bit of research, and it seems like that's not entirely correct. For example, Magnus Scheving played Sportacus for the entire run of the TV series (so far, unless it gets more seasons). However, Dyri Kristjansson was a stunt double who is taking over the role entirely with Scheving's retirement, and Julian Essex-Spurrier has played the character in various live shows.
- I'll need to do a bit more research to find which of these cast members played which characters in what media, so I can more properly label them. Hopefully I'll have time for this tonight. Covarr (talk) 20:41, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Songs
Right now, both this article and the episode list include a listing of every song in the series. The episode list matches the songs to the episodes they can be found in, while the table on the main article simply states which characters sing them. We definitely don't need two song lists, and the method of listing them on the episode article is more useful, so would it be okay for me to go ahead and remove the song list from the main article? English language
Without explanation, an IP has repeatedly removed that this Icelandic production is in English.[2]
This is obviously both true and relevant. The IP has been warned for WP:3RR. I will wait a bit before restoring the information (unless someone else restores it first) to see if there is any reasonable explanation for removing this. - SummerPhDv2.0 17:38, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- SummerPhDv2.0 - I've reverted the IP - Unfortunately we're not mind readers and as the IP hasn't explained why they've removed it they should obviously be forced to come here (or be blocked),
- FWIW LazyTown is shown in the UK without subtitles and in plain English so I would assume the programme is indeed made for the English audience .... If someone can provide evidence of anything otherwise I'm all ears. –Davey2010Talk 18:23, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

Robbie Rotten split
A split to a character article was proposed.
- Oppose Not enough material and independent sources to show WP:GNG. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:08, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: I was attempting to show a maintenance template requesting a new article of Robbie Rotten that requests changing from Robbie Rotten merged to the LazyTown characters section to another new place such as a new article or perhaps a different place where he would be more noteworthy, such as with the popular We Are Number One meme. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 23:49, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- Obviously, we don't remove the Robbie Rotten from the characters section, but I do suggest some better place for Robbie Rotten, as he at least has big notability in the We Are Number One song. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 23:53, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Qwertyxp2000: You can change the redirect to target a different article if there is more information about this character in that location. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:03, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support I was meant to refer to a NEW article of Robbie Rotten rather than Robbie Rotten as a redirect to that characters section. But anyways, Robbie Rotten has at least significance from the insane popularity of the We Are Number One meme, which we already have at least a substantial amount of information of in that respective article. Either we could move Robbie Rotten to a new section of the We Are Number One article, or we should make a separate article of himself. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 23:47, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Qwertyxp2000: If you think you have enough material for a character article and sufficient independent sources to meet WP:GNG you can create an article at the redirect. If it doesn't meet WP:GNG it will likely get put back as a redirect again. You can also create an article Draft:Robbie Rotten and get it moved to mainspace when it is sufficiently sourced. See WP:YFA for more. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:03, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: I shall make a draft on Robbie Rotten. And by the way, what constitutes the distinction between "independent source" and "non-independent source"? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:42, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- By the way, some of my other drafts have failed due to the independent and non-independent source fail distinction, so I'd like to learn more about learning about how to get independent sources. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:42, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Qwertyxp2000: Independent basically means not linked in any way to the subject of the article. For a fictional character means not the production team, networks, or the works the character appears in. We like to see coverage in places that find the topic worthy of coverage without their benefiting from that coverage. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

- Comment - I have been exploring the topic around Robbie Rotten further, and I think the Stefán Karl Stefánsson could be a potential home if the Robbie Rotten article fails as a separate article. At least the person Stefán Karl Stefánsson is notable enough himself to be a decent Wikipedia article, so perhaps some Robbie Rotten stuff there could be good. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:46, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Regardless, I could as well make the draft of Robbie Rotten and see where we go from there, but at least we've got the Robbie Rotten positioning ideas as a start. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:47, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- That article just mentions he plays the character but doesn't say much about the character which is what you would like the redirect to point to. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I could add a separate section dedicated to his playing his role of him. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 01:12, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Qwertyxp2000: I redid the redirect to point directly to the character description in this article. I don't think pointing to the actor, even if there is more about his playing the role, is appropriate here. Usually non-notable character articles are redirects to the location in the work they appear in to give context with the interaction with the work and the other characters there. You'd lose that if you point the actor article. Also actor articles should be more about the person then the roles they play. You may wish to add some info to the section here, as long as it is not excessive you might get all the important details about the character that needs to be stated. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:21, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Geraldo Perez: When I have more time, I will just try to make my article of Robbie Rotten as a separate one then. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 02:54, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

- @Qwertyxp2000:You might find content that way. Look for reliable sources, avoid wikis blogs IMDb. Personally I think the content of this article is sufficient. Also if you don't plan to split out the content from this article you can remove the split notice. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:10, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
comment: I wrote a a article about him a year ago but wiki isn't into memes and blocked it — Preceding unsigned comment added by JacobLong01 (talk • contribs) 19:59, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- @JacobLong01: You can probably get an article about a meme to not be deleted if it meets WP:GNG which means lots of significant coverage about it in multiple reliable sources. Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:28, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support per above. It was a perfectly fine article for a while as well. Paintspot Infez (talk) 02:25, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support No shortage of media coverage about the character. Passes GNG easily, and we have enough information to produce at least a start class article not at risk of speedy deletion. Though much of the reliable coverage is on the tragic terminal illness of Stefan Karl, there is also a good amount of coverage of the character itself and the popularity of the meme surrounding it. - Support Robbie Rotton was one of the main characters, you need a bad guy or protagonist in this to mainly have a majority of the suspense and plotline in episodes. There should have been one made a while ago In my opinion, now is just a great time to honour Stefan Karl. Besides it is a main role that some LazyTown people would find interest in to learn about.
