Chilko River pic
[edit]No, I don't think it's of Lava Canyon, which from what I recall of rafting company pix is very canyon-like, maybe columnar basalt even; google "Fraser River Raft Expeditions" or "Kumsheen Raft Adventurees" for two companies I know do Chilko Lake-to-Yale trips....Skookum1 (talk) 18:24, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Aha, I knew Lava Canyon sounded familiar. I uploaded the Chilko River photo from flickr in March here which has Chilko River, Lava Canyon for the title, unless it's a mistake. Black Tusk 18:50, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just the only pics I've seen were taken from the river up - making the cliffs look bigger, or they were cliffs closer to the water anyway. That flickr site I've got to make comments on the wild horses page though; it says some pretty off-the-wall things; the Chilcotin horse-kill of the '40s and '50s was a dire necessity due to over-breeding of the feral stock, and there were no horses in the Chilcotin prior to the early 1800s, almost not right up until the Chilcotin War; not an issue for Lava Canyon but it's always interesting/perturbing to find "false history" of "fuzzy history", especially or all-too-commonly on envirnomental-oriented websites; they alwys seems to get the facts wrong, while pretending to hve all of them....Skookum1 (talk) 22:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it makes sence it's Lava Canyon because the canyon walls seem volcanic. Black Tusk 22:13, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
