Hello and welcome to my user page. I am the main specialist and largest contributor to Wikipedia's Canadian igneous petrology articles. My main goal is to help increase the knowledge of volcanism across Canada. However, I have also put relatively minor contributions into other areas with volcanic activity, including Antarctica, Iceland, Indonesia, Australia and the United States.
Since I created my account on July 2, 2006, I have made over 1,200 pages and over 38,000 edits. Prior to July 17, 2010, my username was Black Tusk for a sacred pinnacle of volcanic rock in the Garibaldi Ranges of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in southwestern British Columbia. I decided to change my username because my main work on Wikipedia is related to volcanology and igneous petrology. Thus, Volcanoguy is more formal and accurate than Black Tusk. In fact, I chose Black Tusk as my username because when I decided to become a user on Wikipedia in 2006 I could not think of a username. So I used Black Tusk as a fill in.
