Grouping of pieces.

Does anyone know anything about these pieces? I notice that the four pieces don't appear to all have the same title (I can't read Russian script, though); so are they all in fact preludes? In addition, the first piece is labelled "Op. 2", and the next two, both shorter, appear to be a self-contained set labelled "Op. 3". The last piece doesn't have an opus number. So does anyone know if these four pieces are in fact originally from different sets of pieces, rather than a set of four that were together from the beginning?

And does anyone know if Op. 1 still exists? Are these four pieces the only ones by Julian Scriabin that survive?

Does anyone have any clues about the tempi these pieces should be played at? A couple of the pieces have no speed indications whatever, and I cannot decide whether they are best played fast or slowly, or in between.

And if anyone knows any more detail about his short life, I would be very interested to read up web sites or books that discuss him in more detail. (A hard ask, I know.)

I've had a lifelong interest in Alexander Scriabin's music, and have known of the existence of his son Julian's pieces for quite a long time, but never thought I'd ever get to see a score of them. I have read several times over the years that he drowned in the Dnieper River, possibly during a boating accident (according to at least one account I recall reading). I thought this Wikipedia article had mentioned this, but perhaps I misremembered. I suppose suitable sources are needed to add this; however, I expect they exist (although I don't know where they would be found). I do also seem to remember, very vaguely, reading probably decades ago that this happened while he was camping on an island in the river with friends, although I cannot vouch for that extra detail, it was so long ago. But if anyone knows anything more definite, it would certainly be good if it could be added to this article. M.J.E. (talk) 16:46, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
